Anyone know if this has the same coil whine issues as the 100w variant?

    • +5

Not that I’ve experienced, had to stop using the USB-A port on the 108W due to the whine, but can’t hear anything on the 200W.

      • +3

yeah strange the coil whine noise occur only when using one of the USB-A port.

    • So funny. I never noticed. Now f I find a problem it's all your fault! I have 3 of the dam 100w versions! 😂

I have this and while it's but bulky, I really appreciate having all 200w available. I typically charge two laptops and two phones at the same time and never have to worry about choosing what to charge. This is a great price for that.

Does it power cycle other ports when you plug another device into it?

The 108W version of the BoostCharge Pro seems to have dynamic renegotiation, and I'm keen to understand if this 200W version does too:

Edit: Looks like this one does do renegotiation, unfortunately: https://youtu.be/p-F59g3dm5I?t=575

      • Cheers for the research. It's an understandable but frustrating thing. I often run a travel router off the charger and switching off every time a new device goes in starts to defeat the purpose.

      • Yes confirm it does reset when you plug a new device in.

Wouldn't it be just as good buying 2x 100 W at $50ea and have more ports

      • This is what I did. More flexibility in terms of location too and if one fails I won't have to replace the whole thing.

      • Cabled ones can be better for international travel as cables with the local plug can usually be bought in-country. The ones with replaceable connectors area almost non-replaceable.

I personally just prefer to have a single unit on the desk too.

  • right now, if you pay using certain cards (NAB ones i think) with some coupon code, you get a further $10 off.

      Nab code is NAB10
      Citi code is CARD10

  • So how do I charge my Garmin charger? USB-A to prorietary?

    • USB-c to usb-a Adapter 🤣

Garmin have a USB-C charger cable (Included with my Epix Gen 2)
