Reputed to be the best mini projector on the market at what appears to be an ATL.
If I had the money, I would snap this one up.

You get what you pay for. Atom is double the price though. Coupons + cashback on Aliexpress recently brought the S5 below 500.
Sure, just mentioning because of the best on the market comment
Torn between the two myself. Or maybe waiting to see if something better releases soon
If you are considering the Dangbei Atom, I would get a Hisense C1 or C2 on Alibaba instead for a little over $1000. The Hisense wont have Google TV Netflix certified on it like the Dangbei, but a streaming stick can solve that easily, but the Hisense image quality far exceeds the Dangbei. I bought the Dangbei Atom for a relative last month and its a great bright projector, but comparing it to my friend's C2 Ultra, the image quality is night and day. I'm personally planning to get the new Hisense C3 Pro or Ultra off Alibaba soon (still trying to decide which one to get)
@SeanConnery: Looks like a great projector, but looks too bulky for my use case. I have an acceptable enough projector at home but want one for travel, slip into a laptop case sorta vibes :)
@snoopydoop: IN that case, the Atom would be the best. If you are a image quality snob like myself, you will find the S5 colors really way off (I wasnt able to adjust it to my liking) whereas the Atom had perfect colors straight out of the box. Didnt need to tweak anything. And the lumens difference is massive (the 1100 ansi lumens of the Atom is more than enough for night time viewing), though a $25 grey ALR screen off ALiexpress or something makes a massive difference to both, especially the S5 (it really needs it).
@SeanConnery: Usually! I think the biggest thing that's annoying me about the atom is lack of usb-c. I've seen there's adapters etc but it seems like a bit of a clunky integration for me.
Image quality and brightness seems like it'll be a lot better.
I'm very tempted to wait given they're both a couple of years old now…think I'll get buyer's remorse if the perfect one drops soon. Feels like small projectors are getting better and better.
Great projector. Easy to use in portable settings. Able to side load netflix. Purchased 2 years ago for approx $400.
That’s a cracking price.
Isn't atom better it just isn't as good for battery pack usage because no usb-c?
Also feel like it's been as low or lower on AliExpress but might be wrong
