  Mmmm… Compared to the ORIGIMAGIC N1 with Ryzen 7 5700U (16/512GB with 2x USB C ports), which is almost always available at a price of ~$377… The i5 12450H appears to be a smidge more powerful than the R7 5700U, but it uses up quite a bit more power for not very much gain in performance (45W TDP vs 15W)… And you also lose out on one extra USB C port, which I'd say is well worth the additional ~$38.

  Personally, I'd go with the ORIGIMAGIC N1 with Ryzen 7 5700U.

    Different usecases, the single threaded performance is a good amount faster on the Intel due to the higher clocks and it has quicksync which is very useful for those wanting to use this as a mini plex server.

    Had the origimagic included a 5800u instead, the single threaded performance would have been on par given the 5700u is a rebadged 4800u, but even then it still doesn't have quicksync.

      Yeah this device is way better for Plex/media vs a AMD product. I run effectively the i3 version of this cpu and it is a beast for plex.

  Based on the specs, this is basically a 3-year-old laptop without a screen. But a decent laptop for its time.

    They would usually come with Windows already but from what i've read, common practice is to wipe the SSD and do a clean install of W11.

    Only issue for this model is I cant find the relevant drivers for it on Reatan's website but you can probably download them from each of the component manufacturers separately except for BIOS.
