  One con is the wide angle is to side not vertical horizontal, so we may not be able to see a parcel left on the floor.
  Is this correct?

    Basically, no, unless the parcel is left directly adjacent to/below the camera. About a metre or more away and you'll see plenty, both vertically and horizontally. Have a look at the parcel in this video 8:43 in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23PYZjj0YvQ
    It is just out of video when he picks it up. It's a good idea to test your placement of the doorbell before you install it.

      Ok thanks from past experience amazon delivery guy always put packages very close to the door but i will try/test worse case will return.

        Does the doorbell need to be on your door or can you relocate it? Mine is on a wall perpendicular to the door, looking directly down the front steps, so I get full advantage of the wide angle.
