Whether it's "better" is subjective to what you're after.
Qrevo Master if you have pets or kids, it has an RGB camera so it's significantly better at avoiding toys and poop.
I don't think the Qrevo EdgeC is good value even at $1600, it's a side-grade to the Qrevo Master. You get better suction, 25C higher water temperature and it can clear higher thresholds, but at the expense of the camera. Better off with the S8 MaxV on clearance if you can find it anywhere.

The difference is ~$180. I think the fact that it has better brushes and is quieter and has a dustbin larger tank is worth the difference.

How do these compare to the higher end roombas?
No competition at all, the higher end roombas like Combo 10 Max are terrible value compared to the Roborock Qrevo Master, with an overly-complex mop system (too many moving parts) and the navigation still sucks despite using cameras.
Doesn't have the same automation as even mid-range robots today, like if the mop gets dirty then it'll spread that throughout the house, unlike most higher end devices that have sensors to detect a dirty mop and go clean it with hot water + dry it with hot air.
The cheaper Roombas are great value, especially refurbished, but there's far more competition in the higher end space and they spent too long relying on their brand rather than actually innovating, and are now stuck playing catch-up.
Is this overkill for a largeish 2 bedroom apartment with 2 fluffy cats ?

Roborock seems to review better and more consistently with object avoidance and with quality of the actual vacuum, its interesting how Vacuum Wars is so heavily led by ecovacs products, I am not sure how impartial they are. ChatGPT also seemed to agree as well around quality between the two
