Bauhn 65W GaN Charger $49.99 (in Store) @ ALDI

120

Specs are sparse, and don't know who the OEM is, but may be a decent deal. Interested in seeing how effective these would be for charging a 65W USB C laptop.

Can we assume the 27K powerbank would provide more changing time than the GAN mini?

27K Powerbank:
100W Output
USB-C and USB-A output

65W GAN Mini Charger:
65W output
Charge smartphone, laptop, tablet or audio devices

    Only black GaNs ?

  • "Can we assume the 27K powerbank would provide more changing time than the GAN mini?"

What do you mean by this?

The 27k Powerbank has a 27,000 Mah Battery that theoretically can provide up to 100w by USB PD

The Gan Mini is a 65W charger with no battery, that looks to run from an IEC-C7 (Figure 8 cable).

The Powerbank theoretically could charge a device faster than the Gan Mini, assuming the device supported the higher charge rates, however they are different use-cases and not really things you would cross-shop.

    • My mistake, I was not sure what was being offered with the second item. I assumed it was a more portable version of the larger bank.

It does seem like something that should be better articulated by Aldi.

  • Would we expect the power bank to come with a USB C cable? The power banks I have purchased previously have had at least 1 charging cable.

  • Yeah, I'd like more details. Having a cable is super helpful for use on planes. Not to mention figure 8 offers the ability to use a mini 3-way multiplier (also good for traveling).

Have to say, I have no idea why people go so crazy for Aldi stuff.

This is a pretty standard price for a 65W charger with figure-8 cable, e.g. see https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Charger-Charging-Station-Co….

    • Their track record for electronic devices is pretty bad in our house. Probably half of the things I've bought have died either within warranty or just outside.
