Check all the ports, one of my HDMI ports was smashed/wrecked but I only noticed after a few weeks and sony wouldn't help

      How about eBay support?

I had to escalate once, quoted the product description "like-new condition". Took a few days, but zero issue with refund/return.

    • +1

The product page also says "All items available to purchase on the Official Sony eBay Store are covered by a full 12 month Sony manufacturer warranty from Sony."

Surely Sony don't really have an option.

      • It was a couple of years ago, fair point about eBay dispute I must have only noticed once the dispute period was over. They basically said tough luck since I couldn't prove it arrived like that so wouldn't help

I bought a used Sony OLED TV from their official eBay store. The screen worked fine and all functions were okay, but the bottom frame was noticeably bent—probably from being dropped off a wall mount. I contacted customer service and they offered a 15% refund, which I accepted. Overall, the experience was acceptable, but be aware that buying refurbished items like this comes with some risk of cosmetic damage.

These should be new, perhaps were faulty but fixed, with new warranty. So if there's anything that's not as perfect specifications it must be fixed or replaced

    • I also had bad experience with 'refurbished' sony product. I bought a Sony XM4 headphone. After couple of months it stopped changing. I sent it for warranty claim. They said there was sign of moisture damage. I never used the headphone in rain or during exercise. It must have had some corrosion when they sent it to me and deteriorated over time. They used this as an excuse to decline my warranty claim. Very disappointed with Sony. Bose is so much better when it comes to warranty claim. They just simply send a replacement.

Waiting for the 75" $988 deal

  • oled from sony is good? better than LG c4?

    • -3

Sony TVs support Dolby Vision, while Samsung TVs don’t—they use HDR10+ instead. Both brands support basic HDR10 and HLG.

    Thanks OP, just bought one!
Btw RETECH didn't work for me, but when I went to My eBay Summary Page I had a TECHY code sitting there and that also took $100 off so got it for $770!

  • Shows as $770 for me, but considering mini led tvs like like the c6k have been under $999 recently is this a good price? Maybe someone with more TV knowledge could confirm..

    • Sony XR tend to be pretty good all round quality. Responsive, fast refresh rates and good speakers. However mini led would probably look better.

  • Only comes down to $856.32 for me?
RETECT and TECHY didn’t work for me.

as a part resort use JUL2025 to save $50

  • Daymn state of origin was yesterday

  • I have bought the 75" refurb from SONY, the condition was good as new
The box had bit of tapes and stuff but nothing visable scratch or anything on the TV itself

  • This or Hisense U6NAU for $978?

  • Do these TVs have built in tv recording (via micro SD)?

    • Specs say USB HDD recording -no.

      So I guess that's a no.

Also noted no H265 support and 535kwh per year (4 star) energy rating. Great for 2023…

      • +1

They definitely have H265 (listed under HEVC, same thing different name).

Sony have supported HEVC since 2015.

  • GOT one, thanks!

  • Is nobody interested in the X80K 65" for $617?

I reckon its a bargain and bought one considering a Ffalcon El cheapo 65" is $599 on special.

    • I saw this price and thought the same (with regards to ffalcon etc) but didn't order when I read it was an IPS panel with poor contrast. How is your experience with it?

      • +1

I havent received it yet but will confirm once received. Even though theres no official info on panel type and in usa they get a va panel for 65inch+ surely it will still blow a cheap ffalcon or braun out of the water especially at the price

      • +1

Ok so it finally arrived. Very happy with it. Even though its a seconds model it presents like new. It gives my other 2020 x90h a run for the price. For $617 delivered it craps all over any budget 65" tv and then some!

        • I appreciate you taking the time to follow up with a review. I ended up ordering one expecting that I may just return it, but hopefully mine arrives this week in similar new condition

          • @scottySK: All good. The only second hand things that I noticed were the stands and the power cord. Otherwise the tv itself appears to be new or like new. Goodluck!

There hasn't been stock in most shops for this model for a while so I suspect at least some of them may be shop floor displays.
When you get your TV maybe check how much it's been used. Though I assume these stats can be factory reset.

    AI Overview
To check how long a Sony XR65X90L TV has been used, you'll need to access the service menu. Turn the TV off, then press Display, 5, Volume+, and the Power button in sequence. This will boot the TV into the service menu. Navigate to "Self Diagnosis" and select it. The first number displayed represents the total power-on hours, the second is the system boot count, and the third is the total panel hours.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Power off the TV: Ensure the TV is completely turned off, not just in standby mode.
Enter the service menu: Press the following buttons on your remote in sequence: Display, 5, Volume+, Power.
Navigate to Self Diagnosis: The TV will boot into the service menu. Use the arrow keys on your remote to scroll down to the "Self Diagnosis" option and press enter.
Find the usage hours: In the Self Diagnosis menu, you'll see a sequence of three numbers at the bottom. The first number is the total power-on hours, the second is the system boot count, and the third is the total panel hours.
Record the information: Make a note of the total power-on hours or take a picture of the screen for reference.
Exit the service menu: Press the Home button to return to the normal TV viewing mode.

  • how was the experience wveryone after you received

    • Mines not coming till next week. Some people should get theirs this week.

  • who got their tv? still waiting for tracking order/number

    • I got my tracking number via SMS Friday morning, so just 12 hours after the order, and it’s coming tomorrow.

Really surprised you haven’t heard anything from them yet, how many were left when you bought this TV

    • +1

If it's the same for everyone, you should get an SMS from ANC with a link that takes you to delivery options. I think my SMS came a day after I ordered. Check your SMS history or spam box, or make sure you entered the right mobile number when you ordered.

      • Okay perfect Just saw the SMS by ANC. Didnt check the spam phone

    • I got an EFM logistics tracking number but the number doesn’t seem to track anything yet ..

      • +1

Sharing my experience as I just got the TV delivered this morning.

The eBay tracking also showed EFM Logistics for me, but I don’t think that’s correct. Just stick with the ANC Delivery website (the link you received via SMS). On the ANC website, you can choose your delivery date and will be notified of a delivery window the day before.

You’ll also get a live map showing the driver’s location and ETA once it’s out for delivery. I also received a call from the driver about 15 minutes before arrival so I could get ready.

Overall, a very smooth experience—I have no complaints.

        • did you run the Self Diagnosis to check usage hours?

          • @Phoebus: Yes would like to know the self diagnosis

          • @Phoebus: Just managed to enter the service menu after some googling. On the bottom left corner of the self-check page, three numbers are shown: 00002, 00005, and 00002. From what I've read, these indicate the TV's operation hours, boot count, and LCD panel hours.

Did Sony reset them? Or is this actually a brand-new TV?

Honestly, the TV looked brand new to me. The accessories also appeared to be new, based on the packaging. The only thing missing was the protective film on the screen.

            • @sbtswr: Probably brand new. Bargain! They might have been delivered to customer DOA then swapped and repaired and resold refurbished… Or just new

            • @sbtswr: how did you get in my remote doesnt have a number 5

              • +2

@George Washington: Google “ Bravia 7 service menu” and click on the top reddit post that comes up, it worked for me.

                1. Be in homepage of Tv before entering standby mode (power off)
                2. Once TV is off, press [ Home - Dpad centre - volume up - power on] in sequence
                3. Tv will enter into service mode

Note that you have to press them quickly, if you pause for like a second between each it won’t work.

Then go to the self check page

  • Can I swap for a 75” ?

  • Sigh i must be unlucky..

Got tv on Wednesday around 4pm . This morning Tv wont turn on. Barely 24hrs

    • +1

If you're lucky might be replaced with a nice new one.

      • Nope not lucky lodged a paypal dispute.. still waiting for TV to be picked up.. been 4 days so far

        • Why lodge PayPal dispute? Just ask them to come and fix or replace.

          • +1

@Phoebus: I did at first, but they said as its a DOA then its a replacement but since they got no more refurbished they will need to issue a refund on item return
