About? Surely not about any proven correlation.
@Unotifoso: Let’s not overcomplicate it.
Non-stick pans only become dangerous when exposed to extreme, sustained heat — well beyond typical cooking temperatures. As for ingesting Teflon flakes, they pass through your system without being absorbed.
If you're regularly overheating, scratching, or failing to replace worn pans, that's a matter of poor use — not a PFAS-related health risk.
@Hasbulla: Huh? You missed my point entirely, but it's cool for you to be so energised and combative for no particular reason with random people on the internet.
@Unotifoso: ok, sorry I went off topic. I thought this was about PFAS risks. Must have been wrong/slow. Disappointing of me.
@Hasbulla: I bet the difference. 10 years ago with lack of knowledge of forever chemicals compared to now, I would not care less. Now, I will avoid PFAS at all cost. I don't like consuming carcinogen knowingly.
@huntingforbargainz: But Teflon is not a concern, isn't it? One of the many sources: https://www.pfas.gov.au/about-pfas/faq
My limited understand is that it is literally impossible to avoid PFAS, even at all costs. However, non-stick pans do not increase PFAS levels in your body.
According to tgg website PFOA free, which doesn’t exclude other PFAS types. Interesting.
As part of our commitment to uncompromising standards of safety, all of our food contact non-stick coatings are free of PFOA, lead and cadmium. Tests are realised by external independent laboratories with stricter controls than those required by current food contact regulations.
Grabbed one to replace my shitty masterchef one. Thanks.
The Tefal Jamie Oliver Stuff is 70% off if you want to spend a little more!
You mean pay Jamie Oliver?
Just a heads up, Tefal frypans are absolute T.R.A.S.H.
Don't waste your $24.
what are OZB-approved induction ready frypans?
I think the overwhelming opinion is to move away from non-stick for the sake of your health. The research that is emerging is incredibly startling.
I cannot speak highly enough about the value-for-money of the IKEA Sensuell frypan. It's as good as a lot of all-clad pans 5x the price. There's two sizes, of which I own both. It's definitely a pivot cooking on steel rather than non-stick, but I cooked scrambled eggs this morning (over my induction top) and didn't have a single bit of egg stick to the pan. Just takes a bit of learning and practice.

You are 100% correct in everything you just said. Thank you for a really good reply with not just an opinion but also an option!
Just got this. Cooked on it yesterday. Seems great. Heats super quick, all oils just wiped out and clean.
just note it doesnt work with induction cooktops
