    Silly question: do you have to turn the volume to very high to hear the music when you're using it while, say, running outside?

      No, I only do that if its windy. If you turn it up too high it limits your ability to hear surrounds which is the benefit of these

    If you care about highest audio quality, don't get bone conduction at all.
    If you care about the lack of sound leakage, don't get the Pro model, get the cheaper and in several ways better non-pro model.
    But if you want this for something like cycling where you don't care about others being able to hear the audio at anything over very minimal volumes, this is a good price for it.

      Good info. These are also good for listening to something in an office where you also need to hear conversations around you. And if you have a very small child who you need to listen out for, you can listen to something on these at the same time.

      These have MUCH better sound than the old model, but also much worse leakage. Old model you could lie in bed listening and the person next to you wouldn't be bothered, but with this newer model they will hear sound leakage unless you have it at very low volume.

        You can use the app to set it to 'Classic' mode which disables the speaker and just uses bone conduction which will stop the leakage but will also reduce the sound quality.
        Classic mode is also good while using earplugs in noisy environments.

          Thanks - I received mine recently as a warranty replacement for version 1, and hadn't cottoned on to this. Will experiment with it.

      Been using two different Shokz OpenRun versions every day for more than 2 years and they've never given me a headache. Version 2 is slightly heavier on the ears than version 1 (slightly bigger battery and more components to create better sound), so I notice them more, but they're otherwise the same experience for the head.

      Yeah I changed the deal to back order but somebody marked it as expired. First I thought the welcome20 voucher cannot be applied to back orders but it works, so I paid $195 including delivery to get the extended warranty on my credit card as well.
