I don't have a need for it yet… I may someday so I must acquire one. Don't tell the Mrs.

"Usually dispatched within 3 to 7 months."

Gives you plenty of time to find a need. The good thing about these delays is that you forget about the purchase and when it finally turns up, it's like christmas.

In case anyone is wondering what it's used for: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Diq3jb3hFzE

    • Have a few round type ones inherited from wood working relatives. About 100 years old. They taught me how to use them.
Never had a use for them, but they look great.

    • instruction unclear, now im bald

Bravo for posting the least obvious deal for a while, had to check the video to figure out what that thing is. Now I'm trying to find an excuse to buy one.

Edit: and just bought one, thanks OP, now I have to find a use for it.

  • I want to plane a sticky door, is this overkill? Should I just simply sand it down

    • +3

Not really the right tool for planing a door. You might look at getting a block plane or a no 4 plane instead

      • Damn, I wanted it for that purpose too

    • +6

If it's an existing door you probably don't need to plane it down, the issue is likely the hinges and they can be reset fairly easily. Let old mate Donny Doors show you how:

Thanks will take a look at that before I buy a plane.

  • Good find, good deal. Thanks!

  • never used this, so I bought one. then I discovered in my garage an old wooden one someone gave me lol!

  • Amazon can deliver to my home address but not local post office 5 mins away 💀

  • Anyone else getting "usually dispatched within 3 to 7 months"? 😂

Bought this exact same one last time it was on sale. Does not work as well as the Bic Hybrid 3 Advanced I usually use, but it does allow for adjustment of depth and alignment. Had more nicks than I would like and it stung a lot more when using aftershave. Would not recommend.

  • Not the prettiest finish out of the box, but once you tune it up and sharpen the iron, it's a great little workhorse for shaping curves and chamfers. Just be ready for the long wait if you're ordering now.

  • why the hell is it listed under "tyre repair tools"?

    • Closest category they could find to wagon wheels.

  • Seem to be gone at that price. Showing 50 bucks and Amazon uk now

    • It said only 5 left when in placed my order about 5hrs ago.

Thanks, bought two. Got some horse drawn carriage repairs I've been putting off for way too long.

  • Looks like a surprised bat or hamster on closeup 😊
