Sony WF-1000XM4 Upgrade - Budget $500

Hey guys, wondering what true wireless earphones you guys are using these days.

I've got a pair of WF1000XM4's but battery life on them is getting sketchy now and looking to upgrade. Main thing I'm after is sound quality, upon researching I've seen the Sennheiser momentums and also the Denon Perl Pro's recommended. Wondering has anyone upgraded from the WF1000XM4's and can suggest something which was a clear level higher. Budget is ~$500.

Thanks

I had the same battery issues with the WF1000XM4. However I bought a replacement battery set from aliexpress for $20 and installed myself. If you are keen on saving some $$ and are comfortable with electronics you will defs get another year or 2 out of them doing this.

  • Have you considered the WF-1000XM5?

I "upgraded" from the WF-1000XM4 to the Pixel Buds Pro 2 during the most recent Telstra sale, wouldn't really recommend them from a sound quality perspective but they're so much more comfortable for me which has always been a problem I've had with the Sony buds.

  • 1000XM6 will be announced within 2-3 months. Hold out till then.

      Aren't they already out?

It's the WH that are out, the WF are the earbuds

  • Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4

  • Denon Perl Pro's were awkward and never stayed in my ear… ended up going with the Technics AZ80, and got the sonicfoam buds from amazon.

I can't comment on the WF's but honestly I personally prefer the AZ80 to my WH-1000XM4's

Looks like they released the az100 earlier this year which is apparently much much better than the az80's which were already phenomenal!

I'd say buy a pair from amazon and if you don't like it, return it! It's what I did with the Denon Perl Pro's
