40GB Small SIM Plan $12/Month for 6 Months for AGL Energy Customers (50% off, Ongoing $25/Month) @ AGL

200

$12 a month for the first 6 months then $25 every month after that, when you have AGL. Optus Network. I have been using for past 2 weeks and coverage and speeds are pretty good.

what's it matter when it's capped at 100mbps?

  • Not bad. Includes 5G capped at 100mbps. Unsure if esim available?
Also looks like it's postpaid as credit check required.

    • esim is not available

Alternatively, if you are not an AGL customer, you can get this for $12.50 a month for 6 months (then $26.80) from Moose Mobile. Data is 40GB but goes down after the 6 months so you can argue this deal is better if you meet the AGL Customer criteria.

I've been using it for myself and my kids for a few months now and I cant tell the difference between my Telstra base plan and this in terms of speed and availability (At least in Adelaide Metropolitan area) I would guess that Optus Wholesale is generally good if you dont need speeds beyond 100mbps.

It's getting hard to justify full service Mobile providers these days, especially if you dont travel regionally very often. $70 with Telstra for the most base plan with data is hubris at it's finest.

      data banking with moose?

edit - 200gb data banking wi moose

    • Yeah Optus is very similar or outperforms Telstra in Metro areas cause majority of data hungry business people smash the telstra towers. This is why Optus winds a lot of the speed awards in cities. most people do not need more than Optus these days. Nothing beats Telstra out in bush

  • Thanks OP

  • Please do not use AGL, they lure their existing energy customers into thinking its a good deal and use it as justification for their awful speeds and constant dropouts. Ok energy company, horrid service provider. Just churn iinet, tpg, or amaysim for similar prices but ok services.

    • it's optus network

if you have issues with the network it has nothing to do wi agl (tho agl are indeed a shtty company imo)

  • I'm an AGL Electricity customer and was unae to sign up for mobile or internet as the system says I need to add some missing account details, but nothing is missing.
    Gave up and went elsewhere.

  • is this postpaid or prepaid…looks like if you use up the data (unlikely) you could be charged more…I'm interested in the $50 international calls allowed as I have limited calling needs overseas (but do call semi-regularly), but worried that I might end up with a big bill
