I watch the news via 7Plus when preparing and eating dinner as our Kitchen/Dining Area doesn't have a TV, which we are fine with. We have been doing this for a number of years, but lately, there has been a lot of what appears to be "buffering", and it occurs on multiple devices across two internet connections.
Here is what I have tried:
- Different Devices - Laptop, iPhone, Android Tablet
- Different Browser - Primarily use Chrome
- Different Internet Connections - Starlink plus primary ISP. I thought at first it was Starlink, but then I checked my primary ISP, and it was doing the same thing
- DNS is not default, it is using CloudFlare
I don't believe it is an internet connection and/or device issue because it works fine pre-news with the final moments of The Chase, and then about 5 mins into the news, it plays up.
Additionally, I can be streaming something else, such as a YouTube Live Stream, and it's fine. Clear as day and no "buffering".
This has been happening almost every night for probably the last 2 weeks.
I think it is a Channel 7/7Plus issue, but haven't been able to confirm. Does anyone else experience the same thing? Whilst it might work during the morning, I am specifically talking about the 6pm-7pm time slot.
If it makes any difference, the location is VIC watching Melbourne News.
TL;DR - I am experiencing consistent buffering issues when streaming the 7News bulletin via 7Plus around dinner time, despite using multiple devices, browsers, and two different internet connections (Starlink + ISP with Cloudflare DNS). Other streams (e.g., YouTube Live) work fine, suggesting it’s likely a 7Plus issue specific to the Melbourne 7News stream rather than my setup. Wondering if others in VIC are experiencing the same issue.
Just you,
