[Switch] Risk of Rain 2 $8.73, Risk of Rain 2 + DLC $39.97 @ Nintendo eShop

160

I sunk 600+ hours into the "worst" version of the game on Switch 1 and never found it that big of a deal breaker, but the good news is this game now holds a near-constant 60fps until late game on Switch 2 without a patch. Further optimisation could theoretically be possible as Devs get used to the new system, but as it stands this is a very playable and enjoyable experience anyway.

Risk of Rain 2 + Survivors of The Void DLC + Seekers of the Storm DLC:

If you buy each item separately I think you may save a few cents. Alternatively the DLC expansions are also on sale individually if you already own one or the base game.

  • risk of rain 2 base game. Excellent

Survivors of the void DLC, Good

Seekers of the storm DLC, meh

    • Is this post fixes or your impression from the launch? I find it's all pretty balanced and cohesive now

      • +2

good question, i'm not sure. I played it last maybe 6 months ago, and my "meh" assessment of seekers of the storm is from back then.

I wasn't aware of balances or changes, might have to give it another go in the near future

  • So not worth it on OG Switch?

    • +1

As I said, I put in over 600 hours on the original Switch. Your mileage may vary depending on how sensitive you are to frame rates. Didn't bother me all that much personally, but others have expressed significant issues.

      • Thanks Faro, but silly question, I have the Switch OLED version, I'm assuming it will be similar performance to the "Switch 1"?

        • +2

Yes all variants of switch 1 (OG, Mariko/V2, OLED) have exactly the same speed performance, the V2 and OLED have slightly better battery due to improved chip efficiency.

        • +1

The Switch OLED is just a variant of the Switch 1.

There's some differences to their side features (different screen, stand, battery life), but core performance is the same.
