Very good video doorbell and parcel notifier

The issue I have with is is that it detects movements from far away even with the sensitivity set to the lowest as a result the battery drains very quickly, I have to change it once every month or so.

Yep, I’ve read many reviews where people mention this. I plan on just hardwiring mine.
But everything else in the reviews seems to be quite positive.
What attracted me to buying eufy was the no subscription.

      Have you set Activity Zone?

      • Yes. Active zone only controls whether it will record but it still detects movements from further distance regardless.

  • I dont think this ‘calls’ you phone like other doorbells..

I am still considering switching to to tplink one specifically for this feature

A notification pops up instantly as soon as someone presses the doorbell, and then you’re in live view.
You can play a generic response instead of talking to whoever is at the door. Perfect for introverts haha

    • It calls mine through a notification

    • Change notification sound to ring ring. Works well.

      This is a different model.

  • Special order. I got burned with the solar security cameras the other week. They took the money with a promised maximum 2 week ordering in period, only for an immediate change 12 hours after payment to a full month wait, which I suspect they will drag out again when he time comes. They don't have any imperative to get special orders in until they order a full order from the brand supplier. Some are @ 90 days.

    • With bunnings?

      • Yep
Long convo with SO person. Was told (after they rang supplier) it would take 2 weeks. But a day after that was told to me I was informed 'about early August'. I suspect they 'guessed' the 2 weeks bit, and had no confirmation at all from supplier when they took the $$$. If it isn't good to guy early August ,I'll just get a refund, but what a wasted month that would be. I know why it's called special orders now.

  • The doorbell itself is very good. The app, pretty average. I’m using homebase 2 on Ethernet with this which is only maybe 5-6m from the doorbell. Not as smooth as my ring cams but otherwise pretty good.

  • Can PowerPass members confirm if they get the extra 5% off? $235.12 ?

    • No powerpass discount on price matched items

I have the S330 from the crazy harvey norman deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/901397

It's fantastic, easy to install, I can go out and walk the dog without worrying about keys, giving guests access and fingerprint reader works very well.

Only issue is that my previous deadbolt was on the bottom of a 2 in one doorhandle so now I have no actual handle until I bother installing a basic pull handle.

  • Any advantage over goigle nest?
    Google Nest send notifications.
Also links with Alexa which plays a notification.
It is a battery model with no option for POE USB C charging.
Battery was running out pretty fast.
Then my sparky ran low voltage power through CAT cable which can be connected to the terminals.
Still I had low battery issues until I reduced the scanning area.
    Now it is working fine.

Google Nest is a subscription-based model, that's the first difference.
Eufy links well with the Google Home network and you can see the video feed on your nest hub screens.

I bought the Eufy C31, but had a few issues with it (didn't see people walking to the door, didn't pick up parcels, took 40 sec to open the event feed so I missed most events)
But I do like the way it sends your phone a phone call when the button is pressed. I missed a few door rings on my Ring doorbell as you had to do that through the app.

This model has the parcel cam, so I'm sure it will work better than the C31 model

This product also requires a Homebase. If you do not have one already, then you can't use the doorbell. Google Nest does not require a Homebase.

I ended up upgrading to a TP Link Tapo D230S1 as it has more benefits and better features.

I did not like the Eufy app, too basic and clunky for my needs.

        thank you!
can see few events (same day )on nest not the next day.
Also gets a notificrion on google home app when some one approaching.
There was a concern about Eufy's cyber security around stored info.
Not sure it was properly addressed.
Alexa announces and plays the video when some one presses the button.

  • How is this different to this tp link?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/915077

    • LifeHackster on YouTube has done reviews for the TP-Link Tapo D210 and Eufy E340. Check out his reviews and decide which one is best for you.

Your link is an Add-On camera and requires a HomeBase to operate. The OP camera is a stand alone camera which will work with no homebase required.

      • Ah I see, as I have a homebase I thought both are ok.

I guess if I have a homebase already is the OP camera better anyway, can it link? I think my 2k indoor has onboard memory however can link to homebase as well.

        • Eufy links to Eufy, so if you have the Eufy Homebase they can all link to it.
I had the Eufy C31 doorbell for a short while, it comes with a minibase but also had the ability to link to a Homebase 2 or 3.

  • The only eufy product in my network that has yet to be replaced under warranty lol

  • Shows $295 for me. Am I missing something?

    • +4

Yes.. the timing.. cause the price went up

  • Missed out on 247.50$ but trying to price match beat at bunnings for 265.5$. Not as good but still decent I think!

  • can you just show bunnings the receipt OP posted? what are ppl's experience with doing something like that?
