I’ve been waiting for a decent price drop on this to add to the pile of shame. Regularly goes half price to $34.97 but this is the first time it’s dropped to 65% off. I’d prefer disc but always seem to miss the big w / jb deals. DLC is supposed to be good too. Note: is part of July PS Plus freebies

Me too. Tried a few times since getting it launch day, but I'm playing through it now and absolutely loving it.
I think it kinda throws you in the deep end a bit with mechanics but once you figure them out, it's fun. It is a decently in depth RPG.Also didn't know Samurai was Refused, that's cool.
It’s the first time I’ve ever replayed a game as someone different and answered along the way different to the first time and the story endings were quite different . Love the game … gotta have the DLC same time as the original for me as the DLC unlocks mid main story so you can play both
Is it fine to finish the game and then play the dlc? I’m sure it’s possible but does it flow well story wise? I think I’m right before the end game but have heaps of side content to do and wanting to wait for a sale on the dlc. Great game!
Definitely fine!!!! That’s how it was released. I think for me, I didn’t even realise I was playing the DLC for quite a while as it embeds itself half way if you have both . You can def play either one separate to the other.
Patch 2.3 Showcase later tonight at 1AM AEST too
Just finished main story, really good game!
Missed the steam summer sale, so I’m hoping this means similar news for PC soon
Love this game! Patiently waiting for update 2.3
This is the game that crashed my ps5 early on and unusable. It forced me to reinstall the OS on ps5 l, and as a result, wiped everything clean. (Lucky I had pan plus to redownload my save files)
Didn’t play it after then, perhaps I should give it ago again, or get the switch 2 version?
Im on PC and my old PC couldn’t run it plus it was a cluster at launch etc… but recently upgraded my pc and decided to give it another go. It’s really good!! It’s not perfect like the combat is a little clunky for my taste. However, some things about it are just incredible! The vibes, details and story are brilliant.
Same here. My 3070 was running like a nuclear reactor and it ran OK… but never finished it. I just started again on my 4070ti and it's like butter and the biggest downfall is the combat.
Interesting. I'm playing it on my gaming laptop with a 2080 Super and it runs just fine on a 1440 external monitor. Graphics settings were automatically set at high for most of the settings (and I don't know enough to bother changing them).
Were you trying to run it at 4K? Maybe that was the problem?
@brotherfranciz: Nah 1440p. I'm talking set to max with all the bells and whistles… full ray traced and getting 120+fps now, back then it would drop to 50-60fps in the busy city. I dare say the drivers and game updates have ironed the kinks out over the last 5 years.
Playing digital version through a second time as we speak and it still crashes every now and again on PS5. I just cop it as it’s such a great game
Hoping for a PS5 Pro patch but won’t hold my breath, they’ve said not happening. Hope it happens. Want Phantom Liberty to drop in price too
Yeh I’m still debating where to play Phantom Liberty, have the base game on PS5 Pro (physical copy) and Xbox Series X (Digital) was hoping for the Pro patch.
Also have a pretty decent PC but not sure I can justify purchasing the Ultimate Edition just for that
Wait what? They update this game so much but no PS5 Pro patch??? Doesn't make sense on their end
Maybe the perceived return on investment isn't there for them. Pro cumulative user base number likely quite small compared to installed base of other platforms - regular PS5, PC, XSX etc. Mind you they did just invest effort in Switch 2 port… I hope they do it.
How does it play on console? Particularly how is shooting/aiming with controller and general options?
I played it on pc and it felt good, but never got to dive deep into it (not palying pc games as much lately)
You get aim assist anyway. Lower the difficulty first and get used to it, then switch back to your taste. I’ve only been on console for 2 months and now enjoying it. Also driving experience on console using a controller is much better than with a keyboard.
Why never On Sale for Xbox X?
Gotta ask Microsoft, then.
It's been discounted a number of times on Xbox, but not quite this low. Latest was $36ish in May as far as I can see
Cheapest way to play on Xbox is a $25 used copy on ebay, which updates to the series X version.
Want to buy Phantom liberty but too expensive
bought it for $30 last week, it's pretty good imo
This game keeps coming up, but it's not that cheap really.
don't neg
got the disc version for $20 slightly after the botched release… to be fair they eventually turned it into something half-decent, but wouldn't touch digital until its a full edition w/ DLC for ~$20..
Free on PS Plus
Macos version of this game releasing tomorrow! exciting times for apple gamers!
See how many fps you can get on your MacBook Air
lol where did I say Macbook Air in my comment?
I've been using the pc versions title screen as a screen saver for months. Just started doing the same on ps5 - going to have a lot of hours racked up in the game…. but without making much progress.
I've technically only really done the tutorial. I keep dying when getting into the proper early game lol
What happened with this game? I got it for like $10 about a year ago, but now seems to be going back up. Bugs resolved?
36hrs in, no bugs encountered yet.
Early bugs from release year have been ironed out and expanded gameplay added with free updates and paid expansion pack. Give game another go, especially if already purchased
Free on catalogue atm
what catalogue?
Ps store catalogue with membership
Took a little bit to hit for me, but ever since playing it, I've had Samurai (the in-game band, by IRL band Refused) in my Amazon Music loop constantly.
DLC is arguably better than main story, or at least I kinda sorta maybe enjoyed it more.
Either way, 25 bucks is a good price. Probably wouldn't pay more than 50 for the complete thing though.
