I have 2 TB google photos, never really go above 100GB.
I don't foll my phone with junk, and dump photos onto external storage (partially as insurance, if phone is lost or stolen).

I have always bought the base storage models but this time I'm upgrading to the 256, I'm a regular non storage heavy user but do update my apps. I think over time consumption and use of storage is increasing.
I bought a Pixel 1 purely to be able to take advantage of the free unlimited original quality google photos uploads (I sync my current P7 to send photos to my P1 which then uploads to my google photos account)

You can use revanced to store unlimited images on Google photos. Should work on any device.

@spy: Download revanced manager, google photos apk build suggested by it, patch it with revanced manager, install it. All good to go with unlimited storage.
It patches the application's to make it thinks its rubbing on P1, as P1 users get unlimited storage, you would too.

Such a terrible shopping experience! I would avoid shopping with TGG online in the future. It's a shame because they're usually really easy to deal with in stores. But oh my, I had to phone them when no one picked up for half an hour. Waited a similar time to get a response by web chat, telling me they also had no idea when stock would arrive from their supplier. They shouldn't have given the precise date of ETA (29/7) in the first place, which is already a pretty long wait.
Are they going to actually send you a phone? My order for two phones was just cancelled without any notice
Mine is still stuck showing Preparing order status. Definitely wouldn't purchase from their website again. Which is a shame, because from my experience, their physical stores were easy to communicate with for a price match.

I ordered on the 17th, and just received a refund on paypal for mine today. No notice nor explanation. Extremely disappointed in TGG.
Support was utterly useless when I contacted them last week too, couldn't provide any timeframe whatsover for ETA of phone, nor for a next update if not chased up. The email sent saying "We can assure you that your product is already allocated to you from our supplier delivery" inspired misplaced confidence in them. There were ongoing deals for this phone that lasted days from other retailers, and it was such an unfortunate decision to stick with TGG.

I wish I had this option. I called the store today and they said they don't know what the status is, asking me to call back tomorrow. I rang the support center and they told me each store has its own source of supplier (wow!) and the center also does not know my status. I'm tempted to make an ACCC complaint at this point.
I was also given the option to switch to a Pixel 9 Pro, but I’m honestly very disappointed with how The Good Guys handled this.
I spent over $50 on accessories based on their earlier email saying stock had been “allocated” — which turned out to be false. Then they went silent for over a week before cancelling the order and offering a $50 voucher that can only be used on their overpriced items.
On top of that, it was incredibly difficult to get in touch with them — long wait times on the phone and a clunky live chat system made it nearly impossible to get any real answers.
I wanted the larger screen of the 9 Pro XL. If they couldn’t deliver, they should’ve said so upfront. I missed the chance to grab a deal elsewhere because I trusted their stock update.
Yes, I fell for the price beat trap — but what’s worse is the time, money, and trust they wasted over a phone they clearly never had.
