Cashout has worked in the past.
That is kind of the point though. If you shop there often, why give you a discount deal. You dont need to be incentivised to shop there.
You are more likely to get a discount offer for shops you don't frequent.
This time they offered me $200 spend to get $10 cash back. Was getting $10 back for $100 spend a few months ago, so they're upping the spend $$ now.
I have a Flybuys offer too, so I am not sure if this CommBank Yello cashback offer will void the flybuys point if I wanna take advantage of both at the same time? With the flybuys points offer I can do multi purchases, but this offer is limited to a single purchase. I live on my own so I don't know what to buy from Coles for $200 in one go.
Just cashout $200 at the checkout.
Would that count towards the Yello $10 cashback? Do I need to purchase something to ask for a cash out, or I can just do the cash out at the checkout counter without any purchase? If that works then I can turn around and use that $200 for my multi weekly shopping towards the Flybuys points.
I cashout from my savings account works for me all the time and i'm always purchasing something (milk, bread, choclate bar or eggs) so i don't know if you can cashout without purchase.
@Gemka2K18: Cashout from a debit card, yeah? I will either buy something with my debit card and do cashout to be safe, or buy Coles gc with cc and use that gc for my groceries. Cheers
I assume the manned checkout? the self checkout offers cashout only if you select saving which means you have to insert the card. from previous experience, the cashback will only be triggered if i tap or select credit. i usually buy coles gift cards but if cashout works then it's better!
I was just thinking about the Coles gc route. I think I might have done that before with one of these offers so that's probably a safer loophole.
So you can cash out using credit card at manned checkout without incurring cash advance fees?
@dealsgrabber: Commbank can be a bit bizarre with their cheque accounts and Debit MasterCards. It's a cheque account with no interest, but in the ATM or EFTPOS machines you can press savings or credit for payment, but not cheque.
You cannot get cash out by pressing credit in the EFTPOS machine at retailers, but you can at the ATM (with accompanying warnings about fees, which I ignore). You can only get cash out at retailers by pressing savings.
@dealsgrabber: No, it is not possible to get cash out using a credit card at Coles. It is only an option for debit cards.
If you only have a credit card then you can consider purchasing gift cards at Coles instead of cash out.
Try pressing savings and get cash out first (and maybe buy something cheap as well, like a bottle of water), and then put the cash back in at the ATM if needed.
If cashback didn't pay out in a week then use the gift card/credit option.
Cashout from savings works.
the self checkout offers cashout only if you select saving which means you have to insert the card.
You can only get cashout by inserting the physical card, regardless of whether it's a manned checkout or self checkout. At a manned checkout you have to select eftpos SAV.
if cashout works then it's better!
It does work and it is better :)
at least you got $10.
I got $5 back on $100 spend
$150 spend $15 cashback. Thanks OP
Has Yello been worse for anyone else since the recent update? I haven't received a useful cashback offer in weeks now.
No perceived difference for me so far. I wasn't getting that much of interest before, and it feels about the same since the downgrade.
I got $5 cashback for $100 spend. Probably not worth it. Cash out is not really a viable option since my CBA card is a credit card.
For these type of CBA Yello offers you can just buy a gift card to whatever you want (even Coles) and it still qualifies for the cashback as long as you use your CBA card
Okay, but I've been spoiled by getting my Coles gift cards at better cashback rates in other recent CBA Yello offers with Amazon and Target.
$200 spend -> $30 Cashback
Got $5 back for $100 spend,
I'll take it
get also all the time only 10 /200$ :/
If I have a debit card do I press credit or savings when getting cash out?
Savings, because that will route the cashout transaction through the eftpos network. (Depending on how your debit card as been set up, you may be able to get cashout when pressing Cheque, as well.)
If you press Credit, that will route the cashout transaction through the applicable credit network (and for CommBank Debit Mastercards, that is the Mastercard network). However, the transaction will then be declined, as Coles will not allow you to get cashout over the Mastercard network.
At a manned counter your only options are:-
Select eftpos SAV.
$5/$100 for me
$10/$100 for my partner
we have CC via our home loan, and it seems only one of these can be used. I did a split payment once but only got 1 cashback
these are separate personal accounts
None for me
Anyone knows how to get the Diamond tier?
From another OzB post:
The Diamond Tier requires that you make 15 transactions in a prior month, AND hold $250,000 eligible balance for any 15 days, OR settled a home loan over $1,000,000
Thanks heaps nismo
All good, I was curious also & couldn't find the info via Commbank.

What's the interest rate on the $250k and are the rewards worth it?
I'm not on Diamond and using BoM / ING for higher interest than what CBA used to offer me.
Maybe ask in one of the posts related to diamond offers https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913996
debit cash withdraw worked for me
