    PSA…

Don't be fooled by this, it's been this state for like 3-4 months (if not longer), and stock seem to continue to replenish.

There are very few actual bargains and discounts to be found.

Many toys you can get cheaper elsewhere, even at the final 50-70% off price!

Source, we frequent Westfield Doncaster, and always leave disappointed at this store.

Your right about the marked price on some of the things, but at 70% entering seemed very cheap, and the brand name stuff like Vtech is a huge discount. Plus actually closing Sunday now

When we were there back some 3-4 months ago, we were really saddened when a staff said they are closing down. Then, month after month we went back to Donny, we found they were still open, and stock was always replenished. The discounts were dodgy as!

We did actually find randomly some good priced toys for my daughter previously in past years. Will be sad to see this store actually go this Sunday, if you're correct.

Just like my local kitchen warehouse. It's been closing down for 10 years.

    • This must be the new House (full shop name: "House closing down sale")

  • that place been closing down for 6 month i wanna say, all the good stuff have been sold in week 1. Even with sale on a RRP, it's still more than what you get from Kmart.

I share the thoughts. Walked in a few days ago and only some garbage pieces left. Not worth the trip!

It’s been closing down since at least March, because I took a photo of something and sent it to the wife to see if she wanted it for a present!

    • Don't leave us hanging like that. Are you still together?

      • +4

Nah we divorced because she wasn’t fond of my ozbargain spending

  • Guessing no more Lego set?

  • Remember EB was up there when they first opened. Then EB moved to the downstairs corridor then again to Big W (i.e. closer and closer to the Apple store) while Toyworld stayed in the low retail traffic area near all the produce stores.

Wasn't there a build a bear there too?

  • How is Toyworld even still around when Toys R Us went bust?

    • +1

I think you just answered it yourself

      • Not really.

    • I think they're all independents. There are other toy stores that also are still opened like KidStuff, ToyMate etc… I believe Toys R Us died largely due to how investors gutted the company up. I think if it wasn't how it was gutted, it could have remained.

    • Toys R us was bought out by venture capitalists who borrowed against the company. Stripped what they wanted and bankrupt the company.

      • F*k yeah capitalism!

      • Sounds like that same as what occurred to Dick Smith.

        • Don’t forget Bi-Lo

          • @nightelves: Coles bought Bi-lo and converted some to coles and closed others.
            No vultures around bi-lo.

  • The books and VTech stuff are good, even if they did get restocked

I checked out both the Highpoint and Doncaster stores a few months back, but even with an extra 50% off sale prices, I walked out empty handed.
