  • What do people typically use these for?

    • +1

seriously, everything. it's my most used tool and there is always a battery on this. it's a beast for cleaning out filters, dryer, any dusting, vacuums, other tools from wood and metal shavings. even blows leaves abd cleans the floor though a high volume blower is better. also clears water after a car wash

      • Same… Just minus the wood and metal shavings!

      • Is it noisy and could it be used to blow up balloons for instance?

        • +1

you want a 200$ + battery and charger proper tradie tool to blow balloons ?

          • +1

@Hornpub: I've got everything Makita and 14 batteries, if I could use this for inflating balloons then it would serve a few purposes.

            • @solidice: it can definitely be used as an inflator (air mattress etc) but blowing up balloons requires a high pressure. max pressure is 20.2kpa = 2.9psi which is nowhere enough to blow up a balloon. you need a high pressure inflator for balloons.

it is also decently noisy, think leaf blower but higher pitch. makita manual says that this is 79 dbA so its quite loud.

    • I got it to blast dust bunnies out of the floor heater and my pc case. Can be used as an inflator/deflator with the right attachments. Sydney tools has some promo vids on the 18v and 40v models

      in the kitchen. 🤣

  • For this price I've could have bought 2 MF100, and share it with family or friends if needed..

this thing is much better than the Mf100, see the review here:
      https://youtu.be/oKbdzH4bIl0?si=YEcLxqyPUpBfN54P

      • I understand if you are a Makita user, this unit would be excellent for you. But as me, I'm a Milwaukee and Ryobi user. If buying this unit, I also need a battery and charger. All up would cost me like $400 plus.

        • +1

I think you need to invest in some battery adapters. half of my Makita tools have einhell/ozito battery adapters on the and they work better than Makita own 18v packs (since Makita have essentially stopped innovating their 18v batteries).

if you have Ryobi batteries though you're screws due to ryobis absurd battery shape which isn't compatible with anything else.

        • I felt the need to ask why you have Milwaukee and Ryobi?

          • +1

@solidice: My work power tool are Milwaukee. While my garden tools are Ryobi. Too expensive to get Milwaukee garden tools, plus Ryobi got heaps more garden tools selection.

yeah i got one of those when it came out was like 50$ now you can get them for like 30$, it has 2 18650 cells, and very powerful motor with high RPM, and lot of noises. but strong for the size.

i now always has one on me when i am on roof in my tool belt, no more need to lug around the big blowers.

      • Much better ……………….Wolfbox CFM 70 vs Makita CFM 37 , how so ?

Got Chinese noname similar to this a few years ago for $25 on eBay. Heap of power, still going strong, takes Makita batteries

  • Quite a few listed on ebay around the $95-$100 mark.. FYI

    • Most probably all fake

    • def fake, makita clones are so so popular, if you buying fake or knock offs, aim for 40$ or lower. they are surprisingly good for the price.

I dunno, I'd say it's debatable, depending on the seller..
I purchased a Makita DUB362Z (2x18V blower) for $219 on ebay in May of 2022. That model sells for $300-$389 elsewhere. Definitely isn't fake, works amazingly well.

Love this tool, miles ahead of all those terrible rechargeable "dusters" from alieexpress/banggood etc.

  • IMO the Makita DUB185Z - 18V Cordless Blower Skin is much better - 3 stage speed selection and variable trigger, higher airflow and looks to be cheaper.

  • I have one of these from JMM Solutiuons, they have a range of things. It is perfect and well priced.
