Hey Oz Bargain Community,

Let me start by saying I'm the first one to run a mile in the opposite direction when anyone says "you've got to try this incense/tea/meditation, it's so relaxing…" For some reason, I unfairly (mostly, perhaps sometimes I'm on the money) instantly think they're a "snake oil" salesperson, quickly run a mile…Perhaps sometimes things need to be experienced first hand to be appreciated in full and without this experience scepticism can easily take hold. A while ago by sheer luck I discovered a great way to instantly feel relaxed is to somehow feel like I'm in a rainforest of sorts, sometimes I can literally achieve this and other times I need to make the most of my surroundings. If time is on my side I'll drive to the Dandenong Ranges in VIC (it's like a scene from the original Jurassic Park movie minus the Dinosaurs and chaos), as soon as I see my first tree fern I'm instantly relaxed. If I only have time to walk, I'll go to the local Botanical Gardens, the first row of Plane Trees I see without a crowd instantly relaxes me. If I only have time to stand, then I'll go straight to the nearest Aesop store (not spruiking them, just sharing what I do) I can find and just spend a few minutes there, perhaps enjoy one of their teas (I don't ask for a complimentary Aesop tea, but my secret system is if I get offered one by one of their team, after I've finished, I buy a small gift to give away; no tea and I usually just window shop for a few minutes then I leave). Anyway I'll try and fast track the circle back to my point. Since I first got offered a tea when I was in Aesop and the relaxation that instantly followed that first sip I thought "I need to find a coffee like this tea!" Well I've been searching for a few years now and I'm wrapped to announce I've finally found one, it's a Single Origin from the coffee famous region of Sumatra, Indonesia. If you could somehow put the experience of relaxing in a wonderful rainforest in a simple cup of coffee this delicious Indonesia Sumatra Single Origin would be in that cup. Although this Single Origin is very approachable from a flavour perspective, so I think most people will hopefully love it, for anyone thinking "you're off with the pixies…stop talking nonsense," this deal also features our much loved Moments to Memories Blend, so rest assured I haven't lost the plot!

We're offering you a 40% discount off this wonderful, delicious, Indonesia Sumatra Grade 1 Single Origin and for those who are keen for a more familiar we're also offering 40% off our much loved Moments to Memories Blend, more details below:

1) Indonesia Sumatra Grade 1 Single Origin, only $31.50 per 1kg (usually $52.50 per 1kg) and $18.15 per 500g (usually $30.25 per 500g)

2) Moments to Memories Blend, only $31.50 per 1kg (usually $52.50 per 1kg) and $18.15 per 500g (usually $30.25 per 500g)

  • Please ensure you use the "shipping" dispatch date selector on the cart page if you'd like your order delivered to you and that you use the "click and collect" date/time selector if you'd like to pickup your order. If you plan to pickup your order please ensure you select the "pickup in store" delivery option on the checkout page, as this not only eliminates the shipping fee for you, but also allocates your order to the click and collect system we have in place, so it means you'll receive different notification messaging to assist you towards a smooth pickup experience

  • I'm curious how you get to try all these different coffees. Do wholesalers and distributors send you sample packs all the time or are you forever trawling through tasting notes full of superlatives and trying to cut through the marketing to select a bean you might like?

    • +9

Terrific question to kick off the comments @Chazzozz !

A semi hybrid of both is how we find so many unique coffees to feature (relative to the size of Lime Blue's operations, as we like to punch above our weight) different coffees per year. A lot of the samples we receive from importers we specifically request and others are sent to us unsolicited. The unsolicited samples we receive are either sent by imports we've recently done business with as they think the samples may suit us or we receive samples from an importers we haven't purchased from in a little while as their way of gently saying "hey you haven't done business with us recently…we're still here…" The first stage is we get a roasted cupping sample from the importers, this means it's generally very lightly roasted and thus just provides a window to see the potential of the coffee rather than the full picture of what the coffee can do. If we see potential through the window glimpse then we generally get a small amount of green/unroasted coffee to test roast. If we're happy with the full picture from the test roasting then we contract the total volume we'd like to purchase from the importer and then the coffee party can commence :)

      • Fascinating reply, thanks for sharing. It gives us a glimpse into the world of coffee roasting and how it operates.

        • :) :) :)

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal…

Is that gonna affect the final price vs if I need it dispatched at once? I.e., if I wanna go for the 2x500g Indonesia Sumatra Grade 1 Single Origin and 2x500g Moments to Memories Blend for $72.60, will the free shipping still apply if I wanna delay the dispatch of half of the order? Tia

    • Wishful thinking there.

      • If you never ask, you'll never know. :)

Hey @AussieDaddy always better to ask than wonder!

At present it's not technically or economically viable to split a single order across more than one dispatch date, as per the some helpful info section of the post "One dispatch per order." A good solution is to get it all dispatched together to unlock free shipping and simply freeze the extra coffee to keep it nice and fresh until you need it :)

    Morning Tom,
Just wanted to check - I made an order a couple of months ago for dispatch in August. It won’t let me add to the order anymore (was hoping to snag 500g to get over the free shipping threshold).
Is that expected because of the new financial year? All good if so, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a system issue!

    • +1

Morning @Joel89 I'm very glad you double checked and it's terrific to know you're keen to add to what I'm sure it already a fantastic order, thank you so much!!!

Good thinking about the new FY potentially being a factor, but hopefully all my ducks are in a nice row on the accounting front, so you should be able to add the extra to an August dispatch. When you get a sec could you please send a reply email to your order confirmation with the 500g addition request and also mention that you had a tricky time trying to edit the order yourself, so we can add the product and check for tech glitches in the self edit system :)

  • Still got a bag left so there's still time for a half strength sale before I head back to Sicilia or Primo…!

    • Glad you've got a bit left @krunchymoses !

Perhaps you could get Moments via this deal pricing and a small bag of decaf at regular price and mix them to still get a bit of a discount if you think you'll run out soon :)

  • Hi
I read that super oily beans (dark roasted?) aren't suitable or not to be used for super auto machines. Which blends would be suitable? Am using the Moment To Memories Blend ATM and its been great and tasty. Hope am not ruining the machine in the process.

    • MTM blend is more on the medium side so should be perfectly fine!

    • Hey @pacificstorm thank you so much for your recent order with us, it's truly appreciated!!!

As confirmed by @Snowy83 (appreciate the helpful answer assist) our Moments to Memories blend is a medium omni roast, so it's not oily like a "dark roast" as such you need not be concerned. I think what your manual is referring to is very oily beans as they could clog your machine mechanisms over time without very regular internal cleaning :)

      • Thanks for the replies. What other blends can I safely use besides MTM?

        without very regular internal cleaning

Don't think super auto grinders can be cleaned at all?

        • Appreciate the follow up @pacificstorm at present we do not roast any of our coffees to a "dark roast" so go wild and pick any of our coffees for your machine :)

  • hi op, I want to try your coffee, whats the smoothest blend? I use a Jura automatic machine and usually have with milk.

    • Hey @Aussybob really appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

By smooth, I assume you mean a low to medium acidity kick?

      • very little bitterness (not sure if that means acidity), something that compliments the milk. BTW, what milk brand do you recommend? I see barista's use many different brands, interested what you use or whether that plays a part.

        thanks

        • Appreciate the follow up @Aussybob :)

Acidity kick it just referring to the sharpness of the coffee, people sometimes interpret this as sourness. Your response about bitterness is helpful. All coffee in general has an element of bitterness, but the good news is none of our coffees are notably bitter. Based on your comments I'd recommend either our Moments to Memories Blend or Brazil Single Origin. Am I right to assume you're asking about Dairy Milk or are you asking about an Alternate Milk?

    Suggestion:

To save faffing around with 4 x 500 gram bags to get to magic "free shipping", how about the option of 2 x 1kg bags delivered for $69?

    • Morning @willyroo appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

There are some coffees we've featured in prior deal where 2kg packed into 1kg bags does unlock free shipping. However, we haven't priced any of our coffees specifically for people to unlock free shipping, it's just an available option for those it suits as is our $0 click and collect. It would be in our financial interest to do what you're suggesting for this deal as it would raise the price per kg, so please don't think the pricing is as it is to intentionally make things more complicated than they need to be. Increasing our price per kg specifically for this deal to target free shipping, rather than focusing on the price of the beans as a stand alone regardless of their shipping price impact would be financially detrimental for those that ideally want either less or more than 2kg. In addition to costing customers ordering more or less than 2kg, it would also mean our mental focus would be on shipping instead of coffee. We want delivering real value for money with the coffee we offer to be our primary focus. All that said what you're suggesting makes sense and is a reasonable thing to say, it just something that we won't be able to accommodate for this deal. On the bright side the 500g bags make it easier to split orders, try different varieties and keep the coffee fresher for longer :)

Hi Tom, do you supply to cafes? One of my friend is asking for a recommendation for his cafe 😁 Can't find wholesale on your website.

    • +1

Hey @sqheaven that's music to my ears, thank you so much for your wonderful spruiking skills!!!

Please ask your friend to send an email to [email protected] and we'll see how we go from there :)

  • Any pour over single origin blend on special?

    • +1

Always better to ask than wonder @booze101 :)

All our current options are delicious (of course an unbiased comment from me haha) and well suited (from an extraction perspective) to both espresso and filter brewing methods To help me point you in the right direction of a Single Origin/s best to your personal preferences could you please answer the below?

      1) Preference for low, medium or high acidity kick?
      2) Chocolate, caramel, fruity, floral or some combo of them?

      • Medium acidity and Chocolate or Caramel

        • Appreciate the follow up @booze101 :)

Choc I'd recommend our Brazil Single Origin and Caramel our Peru Single Origin; at present both are available as regular price. However, if it didn't need to be a Single Origin, then our Moments to Memories Blend featured in this deal should hopefully be a winning ticket for you!

  • Hey mate! Always buy from you but wondering if the half strength moments to memories blend will come back on special? :)

    • +1

Morning @snippy appreciate the check in and thank you so much for the ongoing support!

I honestly don't know, but I think it'll likely be a little while off as there's not heaps of Decaf on hand at present. Perhaps you could get 500g of Moments via this deal and 500g Decaf at regular price then blend them yourself. I know that may not ideally suit you and we can of course blend it, but that would mean no cheaper price until it's on special…just trying to throw out an option that gets you the product at the best price currently available :)

      • appreciate it, I have been doing that haha. I will continue to do that :)
Unsure how it affects the taste and grind, thought you did some kind of special process to get half strength lol.

        • haha nice, same page, same book!

No special wand or spell to go from regular cap to half strength full flavour at present. We do have a special experiment ticking away in the background which would make it very unique in a way that couldn't be blended at home and would further enhance the flavour, but it's still in testing to see if we can achieve the goal :)

  • Any chance of a decaf deal :)?

    • +1

Hey @yaptain always better to ask than wonder!

I honestly don't know when we'll next feature Decaf in a deal as we tend to focus on one deal at a time, but I do know it's a little while off as we don't currently have enough Decaf on hand to feature it in a deal, just enough to fulfil any existing or new regular priced orders. Perhaps you could place a small regular price order to ensure you don't run out of the good stuff, then when it's featured in a deal make the most of that pricing by utilising our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch system :)

  • Ordered. Another great deal op.

Just curious, I’m pretty much ordering from you exclusively now - have you ever thought about a loyalty program for repeat customers?

    • How wonderful to hear @jason2615 I'm wrapped to know this deal's a winner for you and thank you so much for placing another terrific order, your continued support is truly appreciated!!!

Fantastic question/suggestion. The thought has been roaming around in my mind for some time now. However, more thought is needed before anything is implemented as I'd prefer to offer something a bit more outside the box than just a simple points system (not saying there's anything wrong with straight points, just that if we did something I'd like more value than points for Lime Bluers). Any specific ideas?

      • Perhaps sample packs of new blends?
