  • need something for bkk at the end of this sept :(

  • How is Singapore airlines going this hard??? These are some pretty darn low prices for a full service carrier. They’re excellent too.

  • My wife just used Singapore Airlines recently and was shocked at how small the seats are now. She is very small so for her to be complaining about small seats they must be very small. I know many airlines are going this way but sad to see a great airline like Singapore Airlines doing this.

    • Theres quite a variety of planes used by Singapore for Australia from the A380 to the tiny 737 Max 8 seats will also vary.

I don’t know, most of the “deals” listed are unrealistic (return trip is 6 months, 12 months from the outbound) and besides those fares are not available directly on Singapore airlines, just on those sketchy third party resellers.

    • I think the dates listed are the dates the deals appear between… not you flying out for 12 months.

I've flown SG a fair bit over the last 6 months and economy isn't what it used to be on them.

Seats don't have any more space than the budget carriers and meal selection isn't good and I don't think i've had one meal that I ate it's been so bad. If you try to prebook a dietary meal they don't say what it is eg vegetarian.

Also check luggage limits because they are dropping it down on some categories.

The only thing i see in their favour is they are reliable and won;t screw you over like Qantas.

      Totally different experience to you.

Service has been great, meals have been very good particularly the Singapore noodles and I always purchase an extra legroom seat so I don’t have a space issue

The hot towels at the start of the flight is a great touch also.

      • SQ doesn't have 'Singapore noodles' and those hot towels are gross.

    • economy in most full service airlines are quite similar in terms of seats and food i find. SQ as you said, is just more reliable. So if you can get it at a good price, at the time you want, imo it's a win

      • i find a huge variation with a lot of different seat configurations used across airlines and aircraft.

Prior to covid SG airlines seating was on the more generous side with leg space but now I find them one of the worst with their focus seems to have shifted to the more expensive seating categories. You just need to look at the most recent airlines ranking and SG used to do well across the board but now they aren't getting much praise for their economy offerings.

I find meals on most airlines terrible across all classes but can usually eat them if I'm hungry enough. Last month on SQ I couldn't even eat the meals they were so bad but other airlines I could.

Why is it every time I see these posts, I can never actually find the SQ flight deals? When I go through and try to book from Melbourne, it's always other airlines and availability?

    • +2

Yep…deals on Beat That Flight are barely worth looking into. can never find reasonable dates and a shitshow of a website

I was about to post the same! My searches found malaysian and airasia….

  • Hi Rep, Could you please provide a link showing where to find the Singapore Airlines deals from Sydney to Bangkok return in your post?
