    Price beat who?

      Just press the button

      • -3

        that's what she said

        • That's all she needed to do

        • Couldn't find the button.

  • +3

Considering Pixel 9 was $677 a couple of weeks ago, makes this a bit unattractive for a similar sized phone.

    • +4

Feels expensive since pixel 9 pro xl was $880 last week.

      • -6

Exactly. 9a isn't worth it at this price, maybe $300-350

        • oh no i have a pixel 8a

  • Often they use cheaper batteries in the "a" variations, and you've seen them push updates later to hamstring them for safety reasons (e.g. 4a and 6a)

I know the sizes are different, but can anyone the type of battery?

    • +2

      Standard pixel 9a battery

      • Can't tell if you meant pixel 9, or you're making a joke.

    • +9

The cheaper batteries is what gets you the refund and a virtually free phone - I'd say that's a perk!
      /s

      • What guarantees they will recall this phone like 7a? doubt it

    • +1

And so far they've often full refunds for phones most people have been using for years, sounds like a great deal.

      • Unfortunately my phones were out of warranty, so it was not a great deal. Forces me to get a newer phone I didn't need/want

    • This model has the largest battery in a pixel, it just charges slower. Where do you get cheaper batteries from?

      • The 4a, 6a, and 7a have all had various programs due to battery issues, whether it be refunds or software reduction of capability after a certain number of charges. Abowen is just concerned that they might be cheaping out on something in the a models and may still be doing it, which is a fair concern.

  • Would the 9a drop in price a bit more once the 10s are released? I wonder….

    • +2

I'd say not. It will likely drop more when the 10a is about to be released in March 2026. The A-series isn't released at the same time as the rest of the pixel range.

The pixel 9, 9XL have already dropped and the pixel pro 9 is due to drop around now.

      • +1

Thanks that's great information. I will hold off perhaps until then….

        Great.
On last promotion they removed price beat discount when the promo code was used.

    Rip

wish JB did the $349 for 9a like they did for the 8a, 7a and 6a

    • +1

The 9a was only released 4 months ago. It will likely be cheaper when the 10a is released in March 26

      • -1

nah some reason if the price isn't cheap at price pre-order it's never going to be cheap until they are discontinued

  • +5

Price matched JB, applied perks and got for $617

    • You meant the perk "spend $300 , get $30 off" which ended 14/7?

  • Hanging out for the deal where they pay me to take the phone, like my Pixel 7a.

  • Bought the pixel 9 from tgg with the 15% code and vouchers, it was $650. I reckon 9a will drop more, just wait for the 10 release.

    • when was this?

  • -4

I feel that the people that would want this phone will also like to use AI especially on their photos.

This phone wont cut it in 3 years time on 8gb RAM.
So dont buy it for the 7yr updates

    • +3

Lmao good to see the marketing works on some people.

  • dam just got one early june, for 717 with free charger? Already opened the charger but not the phone, you think they will still refund for the whole phone?

    • Was cheaper with the cashback deal only slightly plus the free charger
