Fiat 500e Driveaway from $38,990 @ Fiat Dealers

830

Fiat Australia has slashed $20,000 off the asking price of its slow-selling 500e electric city car, with buyers now able to drive away in one for just $38,990.

The full recommended retail price of the model is $52,500 before on-road costs for the sole La Prima variant, translating to about $58,180 drive-away in Victoria.

The 500e is powered by a single electric motor, sending 87kW/220Nm to the front wheels for a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 9.0 seconds.

Abarth ups to ante to 114kW/235Nm, cutting the claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time to 7.0s, while the same 42kWh battery yields a 252km range on WLTP lab testing.

PS: Abarth 500e Scorpionissima is also on specil with DRIVE AWAY FROM $43,990

God knows why it was that high but there is few $K savings as of today.

And often do not cope with the Aussie sun.
My dad had an Audi that faded inside and out on the side of the the car that faced the sun when parked (in cold Vic)
      Also plastics gave up

OK, so that's the first six months depreciation taken care of. Now how about the rest?

  • With MG now mass producing solid state batteries in their new MG 4 (for sale in China only), it would be wise to wait for this next gen battery to arrive in Australia

    • To be fair, they are only semi-solid-state batteries Not fully solid state yet.

      • MG will be releasing both semi solid state and solid state batteries.

I also quote, “According to MG, the semi-solid-state EV battery delivers a CLTC driving range of up to 537 km (334 miles) with an energy density rating of 180 Wh/kg. It also outperforms LFP batteries in cold weather (–7°C) by 13.8%.”

This CLTC range is greater than that of the blade battery found in BYD Dolphin.

        • Interesting, cheers. Yes they are more energy dense than LiFePo4 so its an improvement.

RIP to the people that bought these cars at full price just recently 😪

    • To be fair, that could apply to almost every recent EV buyer too

This thread is filled with people saying to buy Korean or Chinese trash instead. What the hell, people are cooked.

Cmon man, they want to enrich China's military ambitions!
      Seen daily, easily ID'd.

Still to expensive for such a tiny car.

LOL this is a hilariously bad deal. BYD Dolphin is a much better deal and way more reliable given it's BYD.

And if the BYD Seagull comes to market then no brainer get that.

  • Test drove the Fiat and Abarth 500e before and the ride quality is superior to petrol Fiat 500 sports I used to own. Simple and zippy to drive. The only complaint is that the brake engages a little bit too harshly when coming to a stop very slowly, whereas on other EVs you won't notice it.

  • For another 4K you can get a Geely EX5. I really don’t understand the price points of most of these vehicles
