    To infinity and beyond!

    • so question……. what is beyond infinity?

      • infinity + 1

        • +1

          but…isn't that also infinity?

  • OP what other gear do you need to make use of this kit? Just a soldering iron?

    • +2

      Soldering iron, heatproof mat or hardwood table you're willing to get damaged.

      Doesn't look like it comes with solder.

      Tweezers or a 'helping hand' to hold components and board whilst soldering.

    • +2

      just an iron and solder

      you can work on a piece of cardboard to protect the surface and a 3rd hand rig's often as problematic for beginners as trying to coordinate with 2 hands (never mind it very much looks as though this kit would not benefit from it)

      small pair of sprung pliers'd be handy

      looks to me that as well as a soldering iron, it also needs an oven or hot plate or similar that you are prepared to use for the reflow soldering of the surface mount LEDs

      " Starship Soldering Kit features interlaced PCBs and ceramic filaments, incorporating SMD 5050 RGB LED WS2812B for a more advanced challenge beyond basic soldering kits."

      @ICStation… your comment please….

      • except soldering iron, you may also need the solder wire, scissors, tweezers, soldering stand or heatproof mat

  • this's not the future we were promised

    My favourite part is the absolutely believable model "soldering" a USB expansion cord (without any solder), with the starship very credibly superimposed in the foreground
