TP-Link Tapo D210 - Laggy?

Hi guys, recently purchased the TP-Link Tapo D210 doorbell.

It is just my experience or have others found this to be particularly laggy? By the time it sends alert to my phone when someone rings doorbell and/or when there is motion detected, the person is already gone.

Or is this the case with most of these video doorbells?

    LOL 🤣

How far is it from your wifi router?

    • How long is a piece of string?

    • Not far, would say ~10m.

  • Highly likely to be a networking bottleneck somewhere

I have tried a heap of different "smart video door bells", you tend to get what you pay for (although the PoE ones are essentially instant!)

Uniden, UniFi, Blink, Nest, Ring, Eufy, Arlo, Xiaomi, Swann, Aosu, Reolink, Tapo, Kogan, Tmezon, Botslab all tested …

From the WiFi ones Unifi, Eufy and Aosu are the only speedy ones (the rest lag pretty hard due to the apps)!

Although I settled on the Reolink PoE (wired) - it just had the best combination of video quality, notification speed, AI detection, recording options, etc
