The case is also 20% off with the same code.
If you're interested in a stylus, the Metapen M2 is highly regarded as a cheaper replacement for the Kobo one

I ordered one of these twice from these clowns. Cancelled both times.
I've had a similar experience. Order one, got cancelled, so I placed another and got cancelled again, tried with different colours.
Don't buy from digidirect online. They never never have it on stock so they dropship and take ages.
I haven't bought from them before but on the listing it says delivery in 1-2 days with eBay plus
so true, been there waited a product for 2 months+ and just cancelled after that
Have bought 2 Kobos from them on separate occasions, both arrived in about 3 days. Not to take away from anyone else's experience but perhaps some items are stocked and some are drop shipped?
Yup. I picked up binoculars from them from a previous sale. It was on backorder with an ETA of 1-2 weeks. After something like two months of waiting, I started the process of cancelling the order. Initially they offered me a credit, then it shipped not long after. 🤷
The clara version is 269 at jbfihi just fyi
I ordered this earlier this week. Tracking says it has arrived at Sunshine.
I also ordered a Metapen. But the M1. A couple of reviews I saw suggested it was slightly more convenient with its button placement than the M2.
This or the new Kindle Colorsoft?
It honestly depends on where you get your books from. Kindle generally has much better battery life but I prefer getting my books from Kobo so I try to get their readers.
Too bad they haven't released any new successor for Sage because I think that's the perfect size for me.
Do you want to borrow library books? If so, Kobo.
Kindle is generally more locked down, Kobo lets you install add-ons etc. I generally like the Kobo better than my old Kindle, particularly because you can also borrow library books
You need to hold them both in hand and see which one feels better. It’ll come down to whether you want the buttons on the libra.
While kindle is more locked down, it’s still pretty easy to ‘acquire’ books and email them to your kindle.
I borrow the majority of my books through my local library on Libby, so I bought a Kobo. Also if you have epub files, you can sync them easily via your google drive or dropbox. I watched prices on the libra colour for months and never saw a sale so I bought from JB with a $30 off code and discounted gift cards.
FWIW I went another route on this.
Booktopia currently have the white version for $323.95
https://www.booktopia.com.au/kobo-libra-colour-ereader-white…
You can get Jb to match this (I did) and pay with the Ultimate Giftcard currently has the deal at Woolworth.
So ended up paying $300 GC + $23.95 and have $30 of Woolworths credit.
Essentially $293.95 if you value Woolworth credit at face value :)
Going oversea soon so will TRS based on the $323.95 invoice ($29.45 GST return) making it $264.50
Note: I tried multiple agents asking them to match with eBay - all refused.
This guy ozbargains.
I use my Kobo virtually every day but I don't understand why eReaders are so expensive. The devices themselves are very basic and made of plastic. They could sell for half the price and they'd still make a mean profit. And it's not as if they price them that way and offer a generous warranty - if yours develops an issue, like mine did with the power button falling off without warning, you're SOL if it happens two years after purchase. Kindle might have more options for fixing issues in the marketplace but because Kobo is so much smaller a market, the opportunities for repairs are very few to non-existent.
You must be new to capitalism
Australian consumer law protects you under reasonable use. How long have you had it. If it’s under three years you can still get it replaced. It depends what is considered reasonable. I’d say three is fair. Even five years is reasonable
Australian consumer law is a mess. The Retailer takes no responsibility, unlike other countries, so passes you off to the Supplier who gives you the run around, has no escalation path past TL, can arbitrarily refuse to assist, leaving your only option VCAT, and that's a cost vs outcome limiter. If you haven't seen real consumer law at work, then sure this looks reasonable. It's not.
I've had numerous experiences and it's pathetic. A good consumer protection act isn't vague and open to interpretation, doesn't require you to deal with the supplier, and addresses where a product doesn't meet expectation - here you get told it's change of mind. No. Your product is sh1te and I don't want it.
I think I read somewhere that only one company makes e-ink screens.
I got one recently from JB (price matched Booktopia, of course). I found the turn to the next page blinking quite annoying compared to Kindle Colorsoft.
Additionally, the Kindle Colorsoft features a clearer background (i.e., the background is whiter, and the text is sharper). There are many reviews online.
The only benefit might not be limited to Kindle and Libby support (also about 100$ cheaper)
Anyway, I plan to purchase the Kindle Colorsoft when there is a 20% cashback offer for Amazon devices.
My 2 cents, hope that helps.
I looked into Colorsoft as well but I like the button and appreciate Libby so the kids can borrow graphic books themselves so went with Kobo.
I am not sure how blow up the screen problem with Colorsoft is but all of the Youtube review are flagging that.
I do think the colour contrast is a lot better on Colorsoft though.
Get an Elipsa 2E instead, 10 inch screen.
Need Lenovo to level this market, $150 Max as RRP
Ordered 28 July, received today. Thanks OP.
Good luck, they cancelled my order during the last eBay sale that came with a case, citing stock issues. Didn’t contact me as I would have been open to switch to another case colour which was still in stock at the time.
