  • As good as manual toothbrushes claim to be, and electric toothbrushes. Stuff remains.

+++++ Get a stainless steel tooth care kit. Picks, and shit. Steam clean em with boiling water. +++++

Get a water flosser instead of potentially damaging your enamel and gums. Those portable ones are really surprisingly great.

      • What's wrong with regular-ass $2 floss

        • A water flosser is less than $30. You save money eventually vs buying floss. It's waterproof, portable, quicker, requires less effort and is less messy potentially. I wish I made the switch sooner.

      stainless steel

I'm not a dentist and Im not trained to use materials harder than enamel on my teeth

    • I'm not sure steam cleaning your teeth is a good idea.

just be mindful replacement brush heads on these are considerably more than the other oral b brushes.

Thats why i stick with the other ones. I dont need an app to tell me i'm not brushing right. Thats what the dentist is for

These are so mid compared to xiaomi

    • Please explain.

The Xiaomi T700 is simply smarter and better value. It offers ultrasonic cleaning for a quieter, gentler, and more effective clean—something the iO2’s older oscillating tech can’t match. You also get app control, a customizable brushing experience, a modern LED display, USB-C charging, and weeks of battery life—all at a lower price. Oral-B iO2? No smart features, no app, no display—just a basic brush with a premium badge

    • different technologies. Personally I prefer the rotation of the Oral-B instead of only ultrasonic vibration.

$50 for 4 replacement brush heads. No thanks.

    • You can usually get them on sale somewhere for about $8 a head. But yeah, still to expensive at $8.

    • Buy a year's worth during Black Friday sales.

  • +4

iO replacement heads cost $25–30 for 4 even during rare discounts, which is too expensive. Only two head options are available, both quite large. The sensitive version doesn't match the comfort of the newer sensitive heads on standard Oral B models.

A major issue is mould, something I never encountered in 15 years with non-iO brushes. With iO heads, weekly deep cleaning is needed to prevent buildup.

For a reliable electric toothbrush without extra Bluetooth features, the Oral B 5000 is a better choice.

    • I was happy to get Oral-B Pro 800 for $45 during Amazon Prime Day. Cleans much faster than my old Vitality Plus, and the battery lasts way longer too. And came with 2 brush heads.

      • Yep, I had the pro 800 for a couple years, but my gums got sensitive, so I upgraded to the 5000 for the different modes and pressure sensor. Got the 2-handle pack for like, a hundred bucks or something.

That said, the iO 7 does feel cleaner when I'm just brushing. But since I got a water flosser, it doesn't really matter anymore, so the non-iO is probably the easy recommendation.
