Was looking for some motorcycle oil for my bike. This is pretty nice stuff for bikes with wet clutches. Has JASO MA2 spec. Good for summer time oil. 4L is also cheap presently.

Autobarn also has it on special but a couple of bucks dearer.

I have been using this for 3 of my bikes. Runs about 5000km fine, though not the best oil since it is only MA not MA2.

    • I always thought this was pretty top tier! What do you recommend?

      • I actually thought this was top tier because it is Ester oil but since @kenjai mentioned it, it is only JASO MA. I was looking at this for my next service but I will probably stick with my usual Penrite Full Synthetic one as it is JASO MA2.

This is MA2 too. Check specs here. Think it's just that Penrite is yet to change old labelling.

@megadeth: Ah indeed, very interesting. Thank you for linking that.

          • @megadeth: Surprising they haven't changed the labelling as its good for them to. I just use the yellow full synth stuff most of the time and that is correctly labelled MA2

          • @megadeth: Unless they have updated it, I will check when I go Repco to pick them up. Please see the link, my two bottles are MA not MA2. https://ibb.co/VcHCybXG

      • 7100, I believe it is 100% ester? though It is quite expensive compared to this Penrite. That said, this oil is completely dependable in any situation.

    • But its MA2..?

    I normally get this one
Always get confused because penrite have so many different variations of 10w40 motorcycle oil

I think this one at Autobarn is better as it's 4L so cheaper per litre. Also full synthetic

    • True, especially if you use it more than one bike, else you're better off with 2.5L and buy a fresh 2.5L at the next oil change interval.

    • I've always wondered what the difference is between the Penrite "factory racing" of the post vs this one.
I'm sure there is a quality difference but since both are fully synthetic it must be pretty small

The ones that say racing were designed for short fill intervals.

Usually with borderline risky levels of Zinc, and much less cleaning additives like Calcium.

Basically; all focus is on 'lube that hard working engine' everything else is expected to be done by the storage oil after the race.

Its hard to find now; I think they overestimated how many people understand oil formulation.

They toned down the 'Racing' blends a little after that, and added a "premium 10" PAO/ester line to provide an alternative too.

  • Always use this oil because my up/down quickshifter run smoother compare with other brand with same specs.
