Meh, this was $139 back in June

  • What network do they use?

    • +2

      Voda

      • Thanking you

      • Always has been Vodafone

        • Not always.

Interesting history. Kogan Mobile launched in 2012 with a deal with ispOne providing the service, who were using the Telstra network.

IspOne started cutting off customers for excessive use of their unlimited plans. ACCC ripped into Kogan, Kogan sued ispOne to restore the 500 suspended customers and won.

IspOne collapsed and that was the end of Kogan mobile till the phoenix rose from the ashes with a new deal with Vodafone in 2015

  • Presumably 4G only as they aren't trumpeting that it's 5G?

    • +4

People need to realise that most 5G plans are limited to 100mbps when 4G is often already faster than that. Unless you pay the big bucks for unshaped 5G you may actually be shooting yourself in the face.

      • unlocked 5g is actaully faster in my house than my current nbn100.

but yeah doing a speedtest just by itseld on 5g consumes so much data lmao, there's no point.

      • damn even Boost has a 150mbps limit on 5G

      • In the face… or simply be getting shot in the ar53!

      Also no unused data rollover.
Typical Kogan deals - Cheap and cheerful with no frills.
I will stay with my amaysim plan. Thx

For the $5 voucher there is a min spend of $xx amount.

    • +1

For this reason only, I stopped buying from Kogan.

      • +1

I just forfeited the voucher as the min spend was too much and cancelled the free Kogan 1st membership

Can I use this for a recharge on my current plan?

    • +1

Pretty sure you can, I did it in June

    • +1

      Yes you can

    • +3

recharge it on the very last day :D, second last day to be safe ( either your plan or the code's expirey day )

    • +2

Yes but you’re throwing away whatever data and time you have left. It doesn’t extend your current plan.

  • +1

Great deal, grab this annually around Boxing Day

    • +1

It was $10 cheaper last month.

  • Question, is this essentially a done in the same day deal if eSIM option is purchased in the AM (email confirmation to setup account) and number ported over within 3 business hours?
