I don't think I have had any FVF offers this year or any free or discounted shipping offers except for 50% off used clothing, but that is no use to me.
This is the main reason I paid for eBay Plus but with no offers there is very little point. My pile of unwanted goods grows lol.
Strangely eBay UK went ahead with fee-free (for sellers). I was hoping they might roll the same out here but crickets.
Anyone getting private offers or is it just pure stingyness from eBay Australia?

Yeah, me too. There are some things that the combo of 14% fees and shipping make it just not worth doing. I am not a particular fan of selling on Facebook marketplace so I guess I will just keep waiting
Regarding when we might get more of these offers: I've just looked up eBay's stock price history and there's a dip between mid-2022 and mid-2024. This roughly coincides with the consistent month-on-month 0% FVF offers we got, which started towards the end of 2022 and started drying up in 2024. If those offers were purely reactionary, then maybe we're not going to see them so long as the stock ticker keeps trending up.
On the other hand, I'm hoping that what they've done with eBay UK is a test, and if successful they'll consider rolling out the same thing with eBay AU. Here's hoping.
ebay UK is crap now as they alienated most small sellers with their stupid new postage policy and the fee which pretends that it isn't a fee. But they only care about large business sellers anyway.
probably they lost so much with that - for me personally total fees that i have saved from those offer in the past = around $600-700
I sell almost 2000 items per year on eBay and I haven't seen an eligible no fee offer in about two years. They just don't exist anymore. I don't even get the 50% discounted postage offers that pop up every now and then.
eBay is the same as most other corporations: If you're a regular customer you get the worst offers. They only care about customer retention and attracting new customers.
Yep, as someone who sells 5-20 things a year (usually old tech), I’ve had to go to Facebook marketplace for reselling.
eBay Plus is useless for me without FVF offers and won’t be renewing unless things change.
Got this from one investor site:
'eBay's active user base peaked in 2018 with 175 million users. Since then, there has been a consistent decline. By 2021, the number of active users dropped to 159 million, further decreasing to 138 million in 2022 and finally reaching 132 million in 2023'
Summary
eBay's active users dropped from 175M in 2018 to 132M in 2023 due to high fees, slow innovation, and competition; remains strong in second-hand market despite competitors like Etsy.
eBay's revenue is steady, but net income and free cash flow declined over 10 years; valuation now fair to slightly overvalued; focus on dividends and buybacks could attract investors.
Despite user decline, Q2 2024 showed revenue growth, improved earnings, and strong shareholder returns; potential for growth via luxury markets, eBay Motors, and market restructuring led by Jay Lee.Seems to be declining in popularity yet being milked more for fees.
Nah no private offers here.
I gave up a few months ago and started listing cheaper items (< $50) and taking the FVF hit. But I'm also building a pile of higher value unwanted items, and I'm going to wait for the next FVF offer before I list those. I don't care how long it takes, I'll outlive eBay if I need to.
