A number of eBay promos appeared on my selling page today, see if they work for you!

50% off variable fees is decent I guess, although not like the free listings we used to get… bring em back eBay!

Relatively long expiry for all 3, valid until September 30!

Collectable Toys: 50% off Variable Fees

Pre-loved Fashion: 50% off Variable Fees for Non-Store Sellers

Trading Cards: 50% off Variable Fees on Auction sales

As always, hope this helps!

I got the same - they are very similar to promotions earlier in the years that I didn't use.
I wonder when/if we are going to see proper non-restricted, free FVF promos or some decent postage promos again
Ebay is so stingy these days. I regret even pay $19 for eBay plus.

These promos are most likely to fight off competitor platforms like Whatnot (cards, collectable toys) or try to grow the number of sellers (fashion). Not sure why they'd give up their FVF's if they're not getting some mileage for it.

There are no FVF fees for private Ebay sellers in the UK. Not sure why our smaller market doesn't get the same deal.

        • +4

Yes no fees but they introduced a forced postage program called 'Simple Delivery' that everyone hates.
A lot are leaving to a site called 'Vinted' that started off with clothes. Ebay UK is really not popular now.

Hmmm collectable toys, not toys & hobbies >_>

    • aka labubu craze

  • 100% will be cancelling at next renewal

    • what do you mean? what renewal? this isn't ebay plus promo.

I meant to reply to King T above, about eBay Plus Subscription.

There was a period back when subscribers got at least one FVF monthly.

It's now basically worthless, for me anyway

        • Ahh yes that's true, will cancel mine as well, not much benefit these days.

Does eBay even realize it’s on life support? The interface still looks like it’s stuck in 2010, and they skim nearly 15 % in selling fees. If they hadn’t locked in users back when they had platform dominance, it’d be a miracle for this site to still be breathing in 2025.

      From investor site:
"eBay's active users dropped from 175M in 2018 to 132M in 2023 due to high fees, slow innovation, and competition"

They are shedding people but profit remains steady because of high fees and less discounts

      • and that's precisely their business model

Does anyone remember when ebay used to do good deals for buying and sell?

    • +5

does anyone remember the site "fat fingers" where it would search for ebay listings that people spelt wrong? so you could search "Nike" and it would search for "Nyke" or "Nikee" etc and you could get some really good items

I've had very good prices, because people listed them in the wrong categories :-D

    Was 75% last month :(
The category hack to sell from any category worked great for me from the last deal. Might still work for this new one but I cannot confirm if it does yet

    • Thanks will try it to sell whole stack of 4090s. saves thousands of fees.

    • cool hack will most likely still work. surprisingly I didn't have a problem selling my items I had deliberately listed in the wrong category for last deal

      • Can we sell more than 1 item through this promotion and still be eligible for 50% fees off?.

  • Does preloved fashion include bags?
