Finally, a game that justifies the Mouse Cons.

Heads up this can still be played on the Switch 1 but requires a USB Mouse.

    • -1

Well you can use the controller, but it's best played with a mouse.

      • Not for Switch 1, it requires a USB Mouse.

Switch 2 you can use the controllers in mouse mode though.

        • I mean Mario Paint doesn't require a mouse to play, you can use the dpad on a controller instead.

@AustriaBargain: No you can't? I tried it just before.

It also has a big "Mouse Required" banner on the icon, and when you open the game there's a banner on the top saying to plug in a USB Mouse.

@mangobango: Oh looks like you're right. I'm thinking of a romhack version I have on my Analogue Pocket.

@AustriaBargain: Didn't know that was a thing, I'll be popping it on my anbernic. Good to know!

I member this, don't forget the hidden mosquito game, "Gnatt Attack"

Remember that kids show that used that mini game in the competition against each other?

      • +2

After a big of googling, looks like it was A*mazing, definitely watched some of those

        • +1

          Yes with Jaaaaaaaaames SHERRRRRRRYYY!

        • Was so bloody jealous of those kids lol. Got to play Super Mario kart too and folks wouldn't buy us a snes at the time so could only play when visiting a friend

          • +2

@buckster: But most of them were terrible at Mario Kart! I spent my afternoons dreaming about being on that show and kicking ass on Mario Kart.

            • @kevmev12: yeah but the goal of mario kart there was to get as many coins as possible rather than winning the race… the kids there were still terribad at it either way.

I prefer when they were playing Bubsy actually.

    • What do you mean hidden? Are you telling me there are other things you can do in Mario Paint aside from playing Gnatt Attack for hundreds of hours?

  • +5

    A-A-Amazing!

  • Me and my sister used to play this. The fly swatter game, making music, painting on the one single provided template. Good memories. Hopefully Yoshi's Safari will arrive one day. I'm ready for other people to know about it now.

    Insta-GOTY…or not.

This doesn't not justify the Switch 2 fake mouse.

    • -1

      Wat?

      • Sorry I don't consider the Joycons to be a mouse and never will.

        • Okay.

          But what does it mean

This doesn't not justify the Switch 2 fake mouse

          • @muwu: Why can't someone plug a normal mouse to play Mario Paint ? The Super Nintendo had a proper mouse.

    • +1

using the joycon as a mouse gave my hand cramps when playing Donkey Kong. Bought the mouse attachment for them and it was night and day. Donkey Kong is stupidly fun by the way.

    • They're raving?

    • +1

I actually thought Mario Paint is difficult to emulate because of the mouse so I’m glad to have this option.

  • How do you use the mouse in handheld mode ? The Switch and Switch 2 will never to a home console.

  • This doesn't not justify the the mouse mode. Nintendo is a lazy company releasing only 2 games for their new system. The Switch 2 looks like a photocopy of the old Switch.

  • Such a boring beyond belief of a software this is.
