Using a referral code, the 10% discount applied to both the flavours and the machine for me. Free shipping still applied also!
Confirming the referral code worked for me too - got 10% off machine and flavours, plus free shipping.
Been wanting one of these powered ones for ages. What a deal, thanks! Grabbed one of the cocktail mixers for $6 to make free shipping.
Also, go to a CO2 dispensary. They have all attachments you need to use an actual CO2 tank. The cost efficiency is at least 5x. The tank refill is $40 whereas the soda stream bottle is $20. And the tank refill is about 10x of a soda stream bottle.
Plus, once you start pumping, you get to feel like a chemist Walter style.
bloody awesome OP. been wanting the power for some time as well. cheers!
Manufactured in an apartheid state. I advice that you DO NOT BUY their products.
Agreeeedddd
but the "vote with your wallet" will do little here.
“BDS campaign pressure has forced retailers across Europe and North America to drop SodaStream, and the company’s share price has tumbled in recent months as our movement has caused increasing reputational damage to the SodaStream brand.”
@lelamo: OK… So you hurt a brand. How has that helped change the situation for Palestine. This is just an attempt to liquidate Israeleconomically, not to stop them bombing Palestine. For a lot of people those two goals are not the same thing.
Sodastream’s factories were in Palestine. But then after enough people complained operating factories from an illegal settlement in occupied territory was a war crime, they no longer tried that approach. Now they just don’t feed the Palestinians instead.
@twocsies: Instead… Heard much about argumentation fouls?
But yeah, it is not cool using land that is not yours but Palestinians probably worked there too. So a bit of an invisible secondary harm. It is pretty clear that Israelis want to spread those settlements no matter how much the world likes the business from there though. So still stand by my point that this is not the correct way targeting one company. But there is some point in the boycott, if temporary. It is a warning to the manufacturer that customers have an opinion and a hope that opinion will be moved as political pressure from manufacturer onto the government. One can only hope but that hate should be an immediate protest, not a long term liquidation of a company that had a lot of people working on coming up with a good productSodastream’s factories were in Palestine
Built on illegally stolen land.
Should Coca cola bulldoze your house and then offer you a job for the privilege of having your house destroyed?
@payless69: Yes ;) Brits in 1917 during WW1 announced support for 'national home for Jewish (Ashkenazi) people' in Palestine (Ottoman region with SMALL MINORITY Jewish population). 2 Nov 1917 letter from Arthur Balfour, to Lord Rothschild of British Jewish community, for transmission to Zionist Federation of Great Britain& Ireland. Bring them back to Britain ;)
Yeah, it's not working with Tesla either /s
Stop crying. Z*******, comparing consumer accountability to censoring Paul Simon is a reach. Criticism isn't cancellation — it's called having standards.
@UncleRico: Quoting history doesn’t make you right — especially when you misapply it. There's a difference between breaking boycotts to empower artists and ignoring human rights for convenience.
@bargaineer12345: Elaborate it for us. After reading up on the deaths and routine violations of human rights that proliferated in South Africa for decades - alongside the criticisms of those who refused a wholesale boycott at the time…
Me? I’m going to Graceland, Graceland. Memphis, Tennesee…
@UncleRico: Fascinating how quickly “reading up” becomes a shield for dismissing real-time human rights concerns. The situation in apartheid South Africa was dire — and so is what’s happening today in other regions.
Paul Simon’s actions sparked legitimate debate because he collaborated with local artists to elevate their voices — not because he blindly ignored context for convenience. There's a massive difference between cultural exchange to challenge injustice and shrugging off systematic abuses because you like fizzy water.
So sure, enjoy your metaphorical trip to Graceland — but don’t pretend a catchy tune turns deflection into principle. Stop crying and get on with it.@bargaineer12345: For someone bleating from his high horse, trying to pretend that others are literally equating buying sodastreams with endorsing genocide, your assertions that others are crying are just a tad ironic…
You can call me Betty, but I will never call you Al…
@UncleRico: Nobody said buying a SodaStream equals endorsing genocide — that's your strawman, not anyone else's argument. The point is about being conscious of where products come from and what systems they support. If that makes you uncomfortable, mockery isn’t a counterargument — it’s just noise.
And if you're going to quote Paul Simon again, at least try to stay on key with the conversation. Lets end it here, stop crying.@bargaineer12345: Again, for someone so concerned about strawmen and crying, you sound pretty emotional equating systematic abuses and fizzy drink.
Ever ask yourself why you’re so soft in the middle now?
@UncleRico: Being clear-eyed about systemic abuse isn’t “emotional” — it’s informed. Mocking concern doesn’t make you clever, just comfortable. And if asking questions about ethics makes me “soft,” I’ll take that over being numb.
@bargaineer12345: Jeepers! Still doubling down from your dais?
Maybe you need a photo opportunity. You need a shot at redemption…
@UncleRico: I guess I’ll be the bigger person and end this, you can’t admit you’re wrong. Next time, find something better to do then act like your smarter than someone else.
@bargaineer12345: Ha! I just love an unbiased arbitrator that awards themself the righteous, smarter, final-word-attempted trophy!
There’s a girl in New York City, she calls herself the human trampoline. And sometimes when you’re falling, flying and declaring yourself the bigger man, I say woh - so this is what she means?
@UncleRico: You can dress deflection in Paul Simon lyrics all day — it’s still deflection. If you’ve got a real point, speak it plainly. If not, enjoy the trampoline.
@bargaineer12345: Apologies for deflecting from my initial perspective and Paul Simon references by, er, doubling down on them. To speak more plainly in search of common ground, can you elaborate on you what you believe the Sodastream race are doing when you said they, “probably put something in the machine before shipping”?
All lies in jest, till a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest…
REEEEEEEEEEEE!
Ozbargain become political:
Followers of a cult that worships a man who married a 6 year old girl and wants to get rid of people that have lived there for over 3500 years.
Death to the infidels!! But tell me who were the infidels?????
If you ignore politics, your nurture the inferior to control you & the community :( Old wisdom ;)
Thanks OP got one. Shame the Black coloured one is sold out for the Power Model.
What’s the difference between the two? Is it just power vs cordless?
Yes.
not a great deal, all things considered.
Thanks for your effort OP
How would you consider 65% off then? a lousy deal?
Big W has it for $197.95, I'd consider $69 (65% off) a great deal! Not the 65% but unhealthy soda at any price
Shameful to buy this in the current climate to save a few bucks when there are ethical alternatives available
https://ethicalunicorn.com/palestine-solidarity-why-you-shou…
Manufacturing no longer takes place on occupied West Bank
That being said, Israel should stop occupying Palestinian land illegally, and should stop killing and starving children.
Apparently Mental Yahoo and his mates and the Israel war mongers are all persecuted.
The Drinkmate system stuff is made in Taiwan.
Those Taiwanese guys are bound to retaliate against the Chinese at some stage…
Let the Drinkmate boycott begin!
The consumer has no loyalty other than price. Asking people to 'buy local' also has the same effect: you're kicking water uphill
Actually many people identify as humans not as consumers. So maybe you’re just describing yourself?
So to you, consumers aren't human? Interesting…
Purchasing a sodastream and met with so many pro Palestine comments… ffs
Balfour opponents want to give back Australia as it was also stolen!!
Or to counter the blunt instrument that dictates we should boycott every person and every product with origins in a country where you disagree with their political leaders (or their extreme response to an equally extreme murderous incursion)…
Hahaha. There is a difference between disagreeing with a political leader and speaking up about an open air prison for running for over half a century. But you do you mate.
Lol! You keep chipping away at those mean men from Sodastream running that open air prison, one carbonated drink at a time…
Complete shame that the whole ‘woke’ crowd, who like to make life a game of ‘good’ vs ‘bad’ with absolutely no knowledge or nuance, are going to post rubbish on this deal and ignore the fact that Sodastream has incredible programs to employ a diverse workforce including Jews, Arabs, Palestinians. Many non-jewish workers rely on them for income. So boycott all you want and sleep well in your naivete!
WokeOzbargain is full of communists that fail in history!
Make sure to hit up Billy Bubbles for your local and cheaper refills if he services your area. Bad enough supporting Sodastream, but don't fall for their refill program too!
Been waiting to get one for ages, thanks!
A powered drinks carbonator like the Sodastream is the dumbest design.
The idea is to get the same level of carbonation every time, seems decent to me? Perhaps this could be achieved mechanically but I assume the power was cheaper or easier for them to implement.
All carbonators have a pressure release valve, so using that as a reference I've never had an issue getting acceptable consistency.
Or just count the seconds, since that's all the powered one is doing.CO2 saturation is going to be temp dependent anyway right? So if charge fridge vs tap temp water you'll get different results anyway.
You smacked 'em right between their eyes, Dr Karl.
Does it only make sparkling water or can you buy the flavoured bottles?
You buy the syrup bottles, and they add afterwards.
Very comparable product, i can see this sitting on the kitchen countertop as well
I see what you did there.. Great point my friend.
If you want to carbonate water for the cheapest price and have a place to store it, get the kegland deal
If you want to pay a premium, look at something pretty on your countertop and carbonate water get the sodastream.
how much output do you get out of a cylinder?
Black Friday deal was way better. Hodl.
They are also phasing out the old co2 bottles to keep compatible part makers busy. I could get the old one refilled at my local homebrew shop for $13, but nothing on the new bottles. Bit annoying.
Edit: Black friday deal was only for non-powered models i think
Sodastream cancelled my order last time I tried to use a discount. Buyer beware
So this use the old style bottle (blue one)?
I have a few blue ones from the old model so won’t not like the pink oneKegland adaptor and 2.6kg bottle
Yes screw type bottle
Power Pack shows out of stock now
dont support genocide
I have it on good authority that the good folk at SodaStream are actually anti-genocide…
That’s great PR copy. The issue was never about their stated values — it’s about material reality. Where things are made, who profits, and the systems they support. Ethics aren't solved by branding.
Gotcha. So it’s a wholistic guilt by association thing. Just so I don’t make the same mistake again, should this extend to entire races and populations or just companies?
I must admit, I may have made up the claim that Sodastream have actually come out and confirmed that they are anti-genocide, nevermind compelling you to infer it was part of some imaginary branding or PR copy. So you’re probably right to draw such a long bow and call them and everyone who buys a sodastream a genicide-supporting Zionist…
@UncleRico: Never said that, maybe you are yourself. Don’t make up things because you are angry, ‘crying in your cornflakes’.
return Australia then!!
And support 6 year old wives!!
OOS, both colours
Just bought the Source Element black with a 10% referral discount and 4 flavour bottles
Thanks mate, I have the Source Element, it's 10 yrs old and making funny noises. Time to replace. Bought for $169 over a decade ago, so at $49 (with referrer discount), $45 is geat price
Anyone with a conscience should not support this company or the barbarism of the Israeli government. I realise this isn’t the forum for this, but enough is enough.
More importantly, are we still allowed to watch Natalie Portman movies?
thanks for promoting a cult that worships marriage to a 6 year old…
Guess you grew up on pornhub?
Kegland have some good solutions for soda water if you have a bit more space.
Or adaptors to use larger gas cylinders with your sodastream for much cheaper refillsThis guy knows! Great suggestion…
The combination of a Sodastream unit alongside a Kegland gas cylinder and adapter is a great bang for buck and environmentally friendly solution.
I agree. I have this set up. It's awesome.
$37 to replace my 2.6kg gas cylinder, lasts just over a year.
Sodastream has been enshittifying with the slow but steady introduction of new proprietary bottles and CO2 refills for vendor lock-in.
Save yourself the money and stick with manufacturers that respect open standards, like the Australian SodaKing.https://support-us.sodastream.com/hc/en-us/articles/44200745…
