Mod note: This deal post and two previous deal posts were removed for unobtainable. According to numerous reports, for example from PC Gamer, these two games have changed from using custom launchers to the standard Xbox Games launcher. Although the games can be added to your account and downloaded to your console/PC for free, you cannot play the games without already purchased their respective licences.     Get in quick before they catch on (unless it's not an error). No need for Gamepass to checkout for free.

      Yeah makes sense.
      "free+" which is the option being selected, does not actually include anything when looking at the "compare editions".

      This, I downloaded the game and it still asks you to buy the standard version for $60. Unfortunately, not obtainable.

      Wasted 110gb

    They announced yesterday that both games are being removed from cod hq and will have there own apps. This most likely a glitch from that so add to library asap

      I downloaded it earlier and… well as above, it just asks u to buy the game once u installed it.

        Yes, both links will let you install it on PC, but need to buy to play, not sure COD II

    I claimed the games when this was posted in the afternoon, came home, downloaded 300GB, the games launch, but every mode is locked. you need to make other purchases for it to work. Apparently these are just the new standalone launchers now since they have split from COD HQ. Guess thousands basically got trolled into downloading 300GB for nothing lol

        Yep, I downloaded MWIII and all the packages (Multiplayer, Campaign and main standalone content) and when I tried to play it had them all locked and asked me to buy them to play.

    If someone can download and check if it actually works. Added to library but have a dinosaur for a home laptop so won't even have enough space to download.

    It's probably just that one component of these games are free . E.g warzone. The multiplayer and single player campaign are different and not included. Warzone is always free anyway.

    EDIT: After I installed MW2 on PC, it doesn't seem to be working, so could be a waste of time or I am doing something wrong? I used an existing Activision account which only had the free Warzone, but when I installed MW2 it says I don't own the multiplayer. Not sure if this will work on Xbox or not, reported this thread for closure for now. Sorry if this wasted your time, but was very odd you could add these games for free, wasn't like this before.

    EDIT2: Sorry this doesn't work, it makes it seem like you can add these games for free but after you download everything it says you don't have access.

    I don't think you can use a controller on PC for these versions.
