SkyTeam, is this a repost of an old article from before COVID😂

BC is excellent on China Southern, price is very reasonable too.

    • Not sure about calling it excellent - it really depends on what plane you are on. , but for the price that’s not bad at all.

      • You can say that about every airline.

  • Wish they do Sydney/Melbourne to Guangzhou for the same discounted prices. Instead of $900-$1,000 for 1,500km-2,100km shorter distance than Shanghai/Beijing.

Great airline - flew them a couple of years ago to Europe. New planes, excellent service and good food in economy.

  • Flew with them in March 25 with TripADeal 4 flights in total. Gets you from a to b. No nonsense airline. Food good enough for an airline. But no beer or wine with dinner. No nut or chips while watching the movies.bring your own.

That's funny…flew with them on the 17th March with TripADeal. Was offered beer and wine with meals with no problems.

Running out of beer (early on the flight) is a China Eastern trick. Never known China Southern to do that - pretty good airline overall.

I caught them to Beijing in May for a similar price. Flights are fine and you get a few meals.
The stopover in Ghangzou is when you 'enter' the country and go through multiple queues for customs and passports and such. You won't have much spare time there after lining up for multiple things before the second flight.
Probably wouldn't ever go to China again, but it was an eye opening experience at least.

    How about flights to Guangzhou?

For some reason it seems flights with an extra connection are always cheaper!!!

Good prices. China Southern is a solid airline - one of my faves. Shame it's necessary to travel to Syd/Mel tho.
Been looking for Syd/Mel to PEK/PVG/TAO from mid-Sep to mid Oct without success (by which I mean the flights are about $700+).
Was amused, yet again, last night that Scoot was a couple of hundred more expensive than the full service carriers - used to fly them all the time, but they've priced themselves out of the market.

  • Perth? The forgotten city.
