The apples are mealy, the oranges are dry… I don't know what's going on with the papayas!

      I’m a simple man.

      I see a Seinfeld quote.

Why is this even a deal? Recently purchased for 2 dollars each at a vegetable market in Bribane. If everyone keeps adding such small things, OZB is gonna get spammed.

    • +1

Of course it's cheaper in Qld because it's grown there?

      • Ignores that the deal is Vic/qld only

    • +1

well the is 2$ one a kg?

      • Around 700 grams per piece, still close to the same price. Thats not the point.

        • +1

          Where exactly

    • Ozb is already spammed by deals for items you'll never use more than once /need but have 100 up votes and make you spend $50 just to save $5

At least this is something you can enjoy

      • Actually my bad, atleast this is a fruit and healthy, not some coke or chips.

What colour breast does a red-breasted robin have? Orange. Because it was named before the word/colour "orange" entered the English language. Until the fruit by that name came to Britain things we would now call orange were then called red.

Apparently its the same with a red papaya. Green and yellow on the outside, and orange on the inside, if the images linked to are colour correct. But its a "red" papaya.

(But at least that makes some sort of sense. What colour is a Pacific Black Duck? Brown.)

    • +1

That could explain why they’re called redheads!

  • +2

Usually they go by per item? what is the go with per kg?

    • +1

Have you ever bought fresh produce?

      • Maybe they’re Japanese

      • +1

He's right? Papaya is generally sold at a unit price.

  • Nice Payapayays

  • I prefer the purple papayas but really rare to find at Woolies

    • +1

I don't think I've seen purple papayas, not even at green grocer! Is it common up in QLD?

  • Popeye, papayine.
    Popeye, papayine.
See? Same thing. Same… ah, forget it.

  • I don't have the coriander tastes like soap gene, but papaya tastes like vomit to me.

    • I wouldn’t go as far as ‘vomit’ But I kinda get what you mean. I’m no fan either
