I haven't seen a deal like this in a while. Really wish Optus wasn't so bad where I live. This had me really considering it!
Not sure what happens if you OzB it.

Had my Dad's flip4 for a bit before my current fold6, it's a really neat form factor TBH
Don't get a Flip. Had to change the screen protector every year since the screen is unusable when the crease of the screen protector pops out from folding. My hinge got stuck after 3 yrs of use (no drops or physical damage) and it takes $350 to replace since it's joined with the screen.
I wonder if they've fixed the issue with the middle of the screen bubbling out
I still have my Flip3 from launch and it's going strong.
Love the form factor but the amount of issues with it is not worth the asking price or the hassle. the bubbling issue with the screen protector is major issue as EVERY owner needs to take it to a Samsung service centre and have the protector replaced EACH year so you won't have your phone for a day. The dirt/lint build up on the hinge over time will make it not open up straight. The hinge design is so fragile that it will break over time and you might as well buy a used Flip for the same repair cost.
Whats the ETC?
4 months at $69 per month + $690
@BargainsGrabber why 4 ? is that a minimum months you have to pay before able to cancel? not next day?
edit you answered below
Where did you find that ? HN site is still showing preorder deals for me. Looks like you get the watch for the fold as well.
Emailed to me this morning
Here’s the full details on the website:

If ETC reduces after 120 days this will be a fantastic deal.
Etc?
Early termination fee.
No deal. Would bite the bullet if it's the Fold 😅
You can get it with the fold7 for $1148
Wouldn't go direct with optus
wait till they start billing you and taking money from your account whenever they want
I signed up and pay manually via EFT. No direct debit needed.
So it begins
Dam I signed up for the same deal but got double storage instead of watch. Lol 😂
That's ok, like most of their recent watches they barely last more than a day. I think the double storage is worth more IMO.
I'm still rocking the original Samsung Watch classic and after 5 years, I still get at least 3 days out of it. Much better…
Can Someone OZ bargin the cost for me? or point me to a link. I am familiar with JBHIFI but now with their upped ETC its not worth the effort.
About $860 if you're happy to use Optus for 4 months and price the plan offering at $25-$30 per month in that time.
Is the total cost of sign up and cancelled right away $1770?
The maximum plan cancellation fee is $1328 if cancelled within 120 days of activation, and $690 if cancelled after 120 days.
Yeah
honestly do they intend for these plans to be like that?
95% of customers are normal people that do not look for a way to game the system, they just want to buy a phone. So I think they are happy to just take the loss on the 5% that do (game the system).
Good find
I did this deal to get the 5 about 18 months ago.
8/10. Would do again.
$2085 min total cost for Fold7. Seems like a good deal to me?
2 expensive i got mine for like 1500
How
JBHIFI, not HN.
Original Price = 2899
-200 pre order discount
- 1799 off purchase price
- 300 GC back
+ 99 - 85 - 1st month fee
+ 766 ETC
- TRS if applicable.
This was all before the JBHIF ETC changed
and i think the 300 GC was an anamoly for me,
Plus the $1000 ontop for the phone
Min total cost is $2085 including device and Plan over 24 months.
The fold plan only takes 1700 off the cost of the phone, unless you reading it differently
get the coral red one then flip the flip to a 20something young woman for $1200. Keep the watch and the plan :)
Really wish Optus wasn't so bad where I live.
That's perfect mate, because as some may recall in my comment on the pre-order thread, you can complain to Optus about back coveragae and they'll give you 50% off for 12-months without much push back.
and I've done just that. Flip 7 (free upgrade to 512GB model) on $34.50 month.
Total cost after 2 years = $828 = 100GB data/month and a Flip 7 512GB.
Yes, bring on the comments about how a retailer customer stinging Optus of their hard-earned $828 is real unethical.
So I guess you’ve to complain to them every 12 months for the 50% off?
Yup indeed.
I think the idea is they fix the issue by then…
How did you get free upgrade to 512GB model?
Part of the preorder deal.
How did you made it happen?
I saw your comment and to be honest optus has actually very bad connection in my area, I am using it for 2 years already. I have never seen internet speed as optus promised and then I complained to them about 1 months ago. They always tells me they are changing this and that and if after certain date it didnt get back to best speed then I text them back which I have done. The latest date was yesterday and I will text them again tomorrow. I asked them directly I want 50% discounts on my plan due to slow speed but haven't been successful 😫
Friends have had better success going down the loyalty path.
Say you have or will be a loyal customer - but you need that 50% off. Be firm but always be polite to the customer service people.
For me the complaints about connection issue has worked time after time for the past couple of years.
Find a formula that works for you and just stick to it.
I will tal to them tomorrow too and will insist to them the fact that i am paying full price for something that i am only getting nearly half of it.
Been talking to them for 3 days now but still haven't been offered a "50% off" unfortunately. I've asked them directly for it and they keep bouncing me back and forth between technical support and customer support.
So total cost after 120 day cancellation would be $690 plus $34.5 * 4 = 759?
Wait is that really how much it cost in total?
Yes, if you manage to get the 50% discount for the plan from Optus
"When you purchase the NEW Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 - 256GB and connect to a new OPTUS $69 plan for 24 months." So flip 7 is not included in $69.
"Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 256GB + Galaxy Watch 8 40mm for $0 on 24M $69 Optus Plan @ Harvey Norman" is not actually accurate am I right?
No, I believe it includes the Flip 7
You're new here I guess. It's included. You get the Flip7 256GB + the Watch 8 40mm for $0 upfront when you sign up to the Optus $69/m 24 month plan.
And is there some GC too?
No GC, read the title & the screenshot. There is a GC but that's on outright purchases so not included in this Optus offer.
@JumpingUnicorns: Hmm, I read the T&C for $150 bonus GC offer, it doesn't say it has to be outright purchases? It might be worth asking. Previous double storage bonus during pre-order is also included in the Optus bundle, so I don't see why this can't
Bonus $150 Harvey Norman Gift Card! Ends 13.8.25

See in store for details.
@yummypinacolada: You're not reading the T&C for the offer I've actually posted though. "N/A with other offers"
You definitely don't get the GC
The Flip seems so pointless. Once it's unfolded it's just a worse version of a candy bar phone with a shitty plastic screen.
I have the Flip5. I love the form factor in my pocket, and most things I can do from the cover screen.
well the point is when its folded or flipped
i'm currently with Optus. how can i sign up again?
If you're on a postpaid plan, you'll need to port out to another provider first. If you're on prepaid, you can sign up again straight away.
sadly i'm on postpaid. signed up the similar deal for flip 6 last year.
I had the same concern.
Followed the steps below:
1. Contacted Optus Care via chat and asked if they could offer me a similar deal. The best they could do was coming up to ~$95 per month for 24 months which included the Phone + Plan. No watch.
2. I asked them to covert me to Optus Prepaid Flex.
3. Went into HN the next day and signed up for this deal.
Cheers!
Can someone put the full calculation of the cost for this deal if cancelled after 4 months. Thanks.
Just spoke to my local HN, you can similar deal for Fold 7 256GB (watch and 69 month) with upfront payment of $1149. Which lines up with https://www.harveynorman.com.au/optus-byo (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 256GB on $69 Device Offer (In store only)
Does it come with 700 dollar gift card?
No - "These offers are not available with any other offers, unless specified"
Can you please tell us what would be the total out of pocket cost if we cancle after 4 months?
Thanks
Come on man, now you're being greedy lol
Have not bought a phone on a plan for 15 years so not really sure how it works these days so apologies if these are stupid questions.
Is the "$0 upfront" still mean you don't pay extra for the phone? I.e. you pay the $69 a month over 24 months and you keep the phone? This was the case when I got my 8250
I've been buying phones outright and paying prepaid 365 (Boost) for past few years. Is this more economical? The phone itself is something ridiculous like $1600+ so $1656 (69x24) seems like a great deal. And you get the watch too!
Thanks.
Yes, that's correct. You can cancel the plan if you want to do it early as per the cancellation terms.
I'm in the same boat. If I understand correctly, an optional extra step is terminate the Optus contract after 4 months, then hop back onto prepaid.
$0 upfront
4months X $69 = $276
$690 then early termination fee
Then go back to Boost (as a new user, so get a better deal).
Or put another way, under $1k to get the phone and watch and 4 months Optus service.
I'm not sure if the phone would be Optus locked (though easy to unlock, but maybe a another cost to consider). Also could you use the Optus number for your phone, and just put your existing Sim and # into the Flip?
I'll continue on my MotoG for now lol.
Phone has never been unlocked on plan for so long now.
never been unlocked or locked?
I had this deal previously and I can confirm they gave me an unlocked fold. This was 2 years ago when I pre-ordered the Fold 5.
Read the flip as fold, never mind.
Does that $150 gift card come along with it?
Downside it doesn't have $5 roaming on those plans
No GC, read the title & the screenshot. There is a GC but that's on outright purchases so not included in this Optus offer.
Comment above explaining no GC.
I had the flip3 and flip4 briefly, didnt like the phone or the form factor and traded them away.
Now i have been rocking the Flip7 daily for a week and i think this phone will be my daily driver for quite a bit.
Im a rather heavy user and still have around 30% battery left at the end of the day. And it feels so sleek and thin. Im not using a case (first time for me), I just installed soft screen protector in front and back so it's not that slippery.
that's actualy a really good deal. Even if you value the plan itself at say $30/month, $39x24 for the phone and watch is $936.
FYI YOU CAN OPT FOR FOLD7 FOR $1148 UPFRONT
Does that mean you can get a Fold 7 256GB and Galaxy Watch 8 40mm for:
4 months x $69 (to reduce ETC) + ETC of $690 + Fold 7 handset cost of $1,148 = $2,114 total
This looks correct.
my mistake, $1149 but yes
now we gonna shop more at Harvey than JB…
since JB didn't want us walking into their store & cancel the plan as we wish later on… :)
this WILL bring more customers walking into store for sure! :))
Just got it instore. Nice and easy. In store person stated the only cost would be the 600 odd ETC after 120 days as the phone and watch are free with this plan provided you stay on for 120 days.
Any way to see up online which stores have these in stocka & which are OOS. My nearest store is 45 mins and another one is more 30 mins..
Did you look? There's a find in store tab under the Add to cart button
Copped today, great deal. Thanks OP
Did you get a tax invoice for the phone and watch? If so, how much did it say?
$0
No Not a Flip.
