    Crikey, a Chinese Gerry!

  • sounds like it fell off the back of a truck, i'm extremely suspect

I'd give it a nil percent chance of it working.

Read his feedback, all of the stuff he sold were cheap trinkets — then bam, all of a sudden, Nexus 7?

    • i checked the same thing, that and a few cheapie watches, he also has a Amazon Kindle Fire 2nd Generation listed too cheap, something just doesnt smell right

      • It's a technique called "Feedback farming". Get as much feedback as you can by selling cheap junk, then when you have enough feedback to look legit put up listings to lure people into buying high value gadgets for cheap and once they have the money they make a run for it (close the account).

Only the stupidest of the stupid will fall for such a trick.

He has sold 71 today @ $30 lol

I find this part of the ad quite funny

"Reminder:If you have any interrogation , please contact us. We will answer and all interrogate and solve any problem within 24 hours."

lol that's a hint for the authorities!

        • How do they get around PayPal chargebacks though? Do they try to make the resolution process (or delivery) so long and drawn out that the PayPal dispute window expires?

        • they keep making more available as they sell them, earlier it was 67 sold with 7 available, now its 82 sold with 10 available

  • LOL I just saw this and thought hang on a sec is it the device or an image?I would avoid this since this is well below cost price not even close!

  • 120 sold, yet not one feedback referring to the Nexus.

  • looks very suss….so many people falling for this trip

    • +3

      NexSuss :D

  • or, somone hijack this account and then listed fake items

  • seems legit buy at least 10!

  • This deal doesn't look legit! I say either these Nexus 7 stolen or they are fake as the price seem too good to be true. Then again I could be wrong but I won't risk that again on eBay…

Problem with paypal chargeback is that if there is no money in the paypal account or in the card it is linked to, tough shit.

    • +2

toughshit for paypal- not you. You'll get a full refund.

Look where this guy listed it up: Baby > Wholesale Lots
This must be a dummy one for baby to play.

    • Good pickup!

    • Haha, enjoy having to return your dummy tablet.

  • +1

he forgot to put the word 'dummy' in front of ASUS Google Nexus 7 NVIDIA Tegra 3 Android 4.1 32GB Tablet in his ebay listing

    • Will be an over-priced dummy.

Seller used to be known as jingjing_001100 before godblessusa2011. Very suspect.

There is always that 0.1 % it's real

  • I am not too experienced at buying on eBay but thought payment by PayPal is always safe. Surprised to see PayPal as preferred method while everything else suggests its a scam. Has anyone tried to contact the seller with any question on the item?

  • +1

    sigh
Same 'deal' as the previous thread
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87799
If you're lucky you'll get the same outcome.

  • Isn't there a way to report and get this seller checked/verified by eBay or PayPal before less aware fall victim to this scam?

    • You can report the item, which i have but looks like they dont care atm. 199 sold.

  • I wonder if what they'll send to you is some junk item, then when you make a Paypal claim, they'll ask you to return it, but for most people this will cost over $50 in postal fees, which you don't get back from Paypal, hence most people won't bother to return whatever it is they send, hence $30 in the pocket at the expense of a few negative feedbacks, which won't matter because they've sold 170x$30=$5k's worth already.

    • +1

ps. I suggest that if you think it's fraudulant, then report it under the "report item" on the right hand side of the listing. If a few people report it, Ebay will look into it.

  • cmon guys, is anyone really THAT STUPID to fall into this trap?

The item comes from China, that tells you most of the story no? Some chinese web scammers are famous in doing this.

  • Holy crap! He's selling 3 every 2 minutes. Sooo happy I got in early before they run out :)

    • well…say goodbye to your money then, unless you paid by paypal

      • Is the facetious-ness really not evident? Would someone really be so stupid as to believe this is a legit offer?

  • It is embarrassing that some people think that this is legit.

  • +2

It's clearly not legit, unless they have hundreds of stolen Nexus 7s.

I'm more interested to see what (if anything) they actually send.

Is this going to turn into another Harvey Norman thread where everyone suspects it's fake, buys it anyway, then spends the next 6 pages whining and complaining about how Ebay/ACCC dont have stringent enough costumer protection schemes?

Wow, 193 sold already, all today!

    • +1

Harvey Norman was a different case, you were buying from what seamed to be a very well known business. This isn't a mistake by an incompetent employee, this is just a scam.

  • It's obviously not real…

  • Haven't we already discussed that last month? Same scammer returned with a new account?

  • +3

Item 321060369940 is no longer available.

    hohoohohoh

  • Completely Legit. Your 10% guess was about -10% off the mark though.
