We're off to Europe in September. Is there an eSim that we can get for both countries, or will we need to get one for each? Any recommendations. We'll need to make network mobile calls (in the UK) as well as data for WhatsApp, Signal etc.
eSim for the UK and Turkey

Comments
I'm not an expert on mobile tech. Can you have your Telstra Sim and another eSim active at the same time on the same phone?
Yes. Even better, you can make and receive calls on your Telstra SIM without roaming fees, by using data over the other SIM.
amaysim international roaming packages work in the UK and Turkey https://www.amaysim.com.au/international/roaming
The $25 package includes 2GB and 50 minutes of calls. Esim is supported
At the moment you can buy $25 credit for $10 in woolworths https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/914592 (when activating, you have to add the credit to AS YOU GO and then buy the roaming package)
Thanks. Will check them out.
I'm not sure that the $10 deal is still active - it's not on the Woolworths website
They don't show up on the ww website, only the app and you have to choose a particular store. It's still available in NSW at least.
Thanks
You're right, they are available in store. I got 4 for $40, which will be enough for the both of us for the whole trip. A genuine bargain.
Thanks for the tip.
I've just been thinking - would it be possible to buy 2x $35 packs (at the discounted amount of $24) in order to get the $70, 9GB roaming package?
Eskimo eSIM
I recently did a uk/europe/turkey trip and did a lot of research into esims before going.
From what I found if you need to be able to make voice calls then the price jumps dramatically and you may need country specific ones.
We ended up going data only and used https://escapesim.com.au, which was fine.
The two times I needed to make a voice call I just paid the optus roaming pack price for that day. Also the hotels we stayed in in the UK had free calls on the hotel room phone which may also be an option.
If I was already on a carrier like felix or amaysim then I would have just used their roaming packages instead
Cheaper to get country specific esims from my experience. Keep your existing account roaming in case you get a text msg otp from bank or credit card to confirm a purchase
