Data only I'd say! Make calls/texts over WhatsApp, Signal etc

  • Can we stack with referral code?

    • Did anyone find an answer to this?

  • +1

Weird that Australia and nz are in different packs.

    • Don't you know? People are far more likely to visit Réunion on their stopover to NZ rather than Australia.

  • Is there any time limit as to when i need to activate it?

    • Good question, if anyone knows I'll add it to the description.

From the Dealabs post I see 22/8/25, so ~19-20 days after applying the code maybe?

    • +2

      September 2 for me

Not work for me, existing customer

  • Hmm w9ndering if 3gb is enough for 6 days japan trip

    • +2

      There's a deal $1.98 (after $1 discount) for a 5Gb for 5 days

      • Hi, thanks for sharing that website! What esims have you used and would recommend?

        • +1

Last time I purchased the 10GB for 30 days from KDDI and paid ~$7 after discount promo.

    So Italy is chopped liver?

    • Many other important countries are missing: Brazil, Russia,, China,, Palestine…

  • is there an expiry?

    Going overseas in February

    • i'm traveling in Jan and am wondering sort of the same thing.
the post title says valid for 180 days so i was just going to install it now but leave it disabled and let it sit on my phone until i travel in Jan, and switch it on.

      • Don't think you can disable and activate later. Once activated, that is day one.

        • I meant disable the eSIM so it doesn't accidentally start using any data while i'm still in Australia. 180 days is more than enough to cover Jan even if I activate it now.

      • I'm travelling to US on December. I just used the promo cods and activated the sim. I cant seem to find the details saying it's valid for 180 days.

        Under plans & rewards:

        FIX Valid 30days

eSIM settings is set to off at the moment

    • Mine has to be activated by September 2

where do you put the coupon code?

    Not safe for online banking

    • +2

Provided your financial institution isn't dogshit and has layer7 encryption implemented correctly for its services then it should be safe.

    • +1

      What's not safe about it?

    • +1

How does this differ to the mobile data you and I would be using?

  • I just added refer a friend code that gave $5 usd, instead of $3.

    • oh, where does one find a refer friend code?

  • +1

roamless has been great for me in my travels

  • This will come in handy for the Mrs stop over in Singapore early next year. Wifi there has been problematic for her when moving through the airport

  • Is there one of these sims which is known to be the best value? I have a trip coming up - Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Spain and India, maybe the USA.

Is there one of these global sims that aren't too bad and cover those areas? Or am I getting a new sim every country?

    • +1

What is the best value travel SIM seems to vary a lot by country and region. This seems to be a reasonable comparison site for travel SIMs.

    nothing for Indonesia??

  • -3

sometimes you have to wonder how these companies make money by giving away free roaming data. do they sell your details to scammers ? or do they hope that you exceed the data you use and end up paying them more ? but i am sure there are a lot of people who have registered but have never ever gone overseas. how does eSIM work ? does it mean they know your IMEI, device ID, possibly date of purchase, purchaser name etc etc

  • Is this 3GB for each of the zones?

    • +2

Nope, 3GB for use in any of the zones. There are 2 codes/different lists of countries though, so 6GB total.

      • Thanks for the response and I could have worded it better. I think you’ve answered my question - 3GB for each group of countries, ie. 3GB for Albania then 3GB for Belgium.

        • I see it now, English can be read different ways. You're welcome.

          • @Hiphopopotamus: English was influenced mainly by French/Latin, so it became the Frankenstein language (lead propaganda language on Wiki ;)

  • When I check out, I cannot see the option to key in the code. I will travel to Vietnam in two weeks

    • it is under, Profile- promo/ referral code

      • Such useful information is overrated and must explain why excluded from OP…

  • Excellent!

  • You should also get: Free US$1.25 Credit for Travel eSIM with No Expiry of Data (Worth up to 500MB in Europe) @ Roamless
Current promo on this deal is free USD1.25 credit in your account when you join

where i can see the credit?

  • Thanks Op

do we know when this deal end?

  • Can you activate it in your home country, or do you need to be within the "zone country" to do so?

    • i asked on the other esim thread, can we buy and straight away use these kind of esim services while we are already in overseas the answer is YES as long as you are connected to wifi

    • I'm also wondering about this? I've installed the ROAM50 offer as I'm travelling to Australia in late September. But within my profile in the Roamless App, the offer shows a green tick to indicate successfully applied but doesn't reflect a green tick to show the esim as installed.

I've very briefly used the esim here in NZ to confirm esim is working, which it did as I was able to browse internet and Roamless app shows a $0.02 charge for data usage in NZ. (NZ is in the ROAM25 list)

So curious why app is not showing esim as installed?

      • Where in the app we see green tick?

        • In the app go to
          Profile
          then select Promo/Referral Codes
then select the ROAM50 (or ROAM25) plan

          • @audioharry: Yes i have 2 ticks and a flag. All green

            • @McMaferMur: OK.

So looks like you do need to activate esim from within a country listed in the relevant ROAMxx offer.

Therefore it potentially looks like my esim will expire in early September as I won't be able to activate the ROAM50 offer from NZ.

              • @audioharry: Nope i already activated yesterday in sydney.
The app reminded me to activate so i did it. It also says dont worry your data plan wont start until you are on the destination.

                • @McMaferMur: All is sorted. Offer is now showing as fully activated.

Maybe I turned my esim off too quickly after installation for the offer to fully process as I turned it off immediately after a quick 1-2 minute test.

I left esim on for over 1 hour today and it now shows as the ROAM50 offer as fully activated in my account.

  • Used roam50 code to claim the 3gb plan.
    Waited 2 days.
Then The app says activate your plan with "free3now" code and get credit.
So now i get SR 1.25 credit (not sure why currency is sr not aud)

  • Just wondering, is it all in USD? or AUD? 3GB is plenty for a quick Vietnam trip. Then I will just top if up when we hop over to Japan
    Thanks Op!

  • Got this and the data stopped working after 2 days.

    • +1

Did you work out why? I'm about to go overseas, and am worried about whether I can actually rely on this eSIM.

      • +1

I think the 3GB promo isn't properly activated, so it stopped giving data because the eSIM has no money in it.

        • Mine shows the ROAM50 as activated, but not the ROAM25. But all 3 show as redeemed. Just that only one has a green "activated" label.

    • This happened to me. Customer service was useless, but I eventually fixed it by changing the network selection to manual and choosing Optus. Has been fine since.

  • +6

Just beware that the eSIM (and so is the account) is forever tied to your device IMEI, even if you factory reset the phone.

So if you want to start multiple accounts to take advantage of the free 3GB offer, you can't. The Roamless app will glitch out and not show the eSIM as activated (because you're in fact activating the eSIM from your old account), whereas the Eskimo app will straight up tell you that the device is tied to another account.

This kinda sucks if you brought your phone second-hand, and the previous owner used those services. You're pretty much screwed unless you get customer support to disassociate the IMEI from that account.

And yes ROAM50 works fine here in Australia, if you want that free 3GB that can last for 6 months. I have an eSIM to physical SIM adapter, a cheap phone on USB tethering, and use the mobile data for my home IOT/security network.
