Yeah, I've heard there's some legal issues between the heads of the developer, hence why they got removed off GOG which is unfortunate. Could happen to Steam and other platforms.
Yeah, as I've read it's an on-going thing between the 2 co-founders. At one point Arnt Jensen said he wanted to "find other avenues to continue creative activities". Dino Patti took to mean he wanted to leave the company, so he removed Arnt from the registry. But then Arnt claimed he didn't want to leave and eventually forced Dino out because of disagreements. Now there's a constant battle of shite, the latest being Arnt is removing the games in order to remove Dino Patti's name from them completely (or so the rumours are going). I assume they will be re-published.
This is all the more sad, because pretty much everyone agrees both Limbo and Inside are masterpieces and this is almost certainly delaying their 3rd game, which has yet to be officially announced but has been teased ever since 2018.

If you haven't got these yet, apparently there's some issues and they have been removed from GoG so no idea if they will be removed from other platforms including Steam.
