  • What network do your Japanese sims use?

    EDIT:
Nevermind; it says on the plans: NTT docomo

    • is it good?

      • +2

Docomo's mvno network is pretty painfully slow compared to Softbank, BUT the reliability and coverage is much higher.

If you intend to do media, id use softbank.

If you intend to just do maps, translate and messaging, docomo will keep you online nearly anywhere.

i only used airalo in japan and it was alright, but comparing the price, it is much cheaper here

@SS625: For DoCoMo, I prefer the Nippon Sim from Amazon.

It's a physical sim; so not ideal if you need your old SIM still in the phone (I don't); but it's an actual Japanese company you can visit locally if you're in Tokyo if something goes wrong.

Prices are also very good IMO. 30Gig, 180 days, under $50.

            • @MasterScythe: ended up buying from this deal, at under $12 for 10gb 30days japan is pretty good

Last months ad was 25% off so not really a bargain, more like just using OzB for free advertising.
    Also no actual bargains listed.

    Maybe try website- OzFreeAdz.com.au.

    • +1

can't find the Asia eSIM 5gb 10days 8 countries $5.90 that you are referring to. Care to share specific link?

edit: don't worry, I finally found it! thanks

      • here - choose 10day & 5gb total will come too $5.94

  • Can anyone advise me if the network is stable? I am planning to go to Japan in the next two months.

  • Are the sims listed here routed back to another country like HK first and then back to your destination, like a lot of these esims do (even if they state they are going through a local carrier)
