"Babe, wake up. Another Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 dropped"

    this is it

    Doubt.

I went with the non-slim for a noticeably larger battery and don't regret it. It's still a very slim device, and not particularly heavy…and honestly the battery life still isn't huge - if you're not going to be riding a desk with this, I'd consider the larger battery.

Install Linux on this bad boy trust me.

    • Linux is gr8

    • Didn't realize that 2025 is the year of the Linux desktop

Pretty bad price tbh, the yoga slim with the 120hz 2.8k display has been about $100 more on sale than this.

      Dont touch Snapdragon version.

      • noted, thx

        • Unless you are using the 💻 just for browsing.

@APN Adelaide: I use the internet 99% and dont game so a SDcpu is perfect for LONG use battery life (like any M1/2/3/4/x from apple is but for everything else, make sure your app is native and not through the translation layer as then you might as well have a linux PC

        why?

      • +1

        That battery life tho

Resolution should be 2k or more

  • Can i get this from a local store via price match ? Need it as I'm traveling soon so can't wait for shipping

  • Is a 2GHz processor good these days?

  • Im so glad laptops have everything included to work.

  • So I'm thinking of pulling the pin on IdeaPad Pro 5(14", Gen 10) AMD over this one, since I think the boost in battery and screen resolution is worth the extra $100. But I'd take any suggestions for something better.

    • "It ships free in 10+ weeks"… yikes

    • To me… absolutely.

  • Just bought this for my mum, but didnt use NB71025 as it wasnt listed on Cashrewards (13% cashback)

Looking foward to setting it up

    • did it track?

      • yep - tracked pretty much instantly

  • was looking at this.. its a damn good buy though though only 60hz is a deal breaker for me. if it was only 90hz or better i would grab it. (also prob should have been 6400mhz memory)…

    • OLED you will never notice as HZ and FPS are two different terms that people conflate mistakenly… deep blacks, smooth motion even at 60hz and in fact the bonus is its even better on battery life too at 60hz (its one of the windows optimisations) and if it matters use the HDMI and plug in a better monitor

      • really? so scrolling down a webpage will look smooth even at 60hz? i've never heard that before with OLED.. though i never owned one.. you sure?

        • +1

quick google seems to think you are mistaken. refresh rate still very important.

as i said i never owned one.. though my AMOLED phones sure look crap at 60hz when scrolling webpages..

  • if anyone is interested ive been putting together a comparison of laptops like this one..

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tfyd6lwvLts4fN1GtN--…

    • The Acer looks like the best value?

      • Yeah that's what I bought. Very happy with it

  • Possible to add touch screen?

  • What does everyone think about this 16”?
I was thinking not a bad deal for a work laptop. Do you think the 860m could handle CAD or any light gaming?

    • It shall fit your scenario perfectly.
