Edit 3: As of 2.15pm Good Guys have reverted back to $309, likely only a matter of time Bunnings so the same I imagine.

Edit2: Bunnings have revered back to $209 so no more 10% price beat.

Edit: Looks like price has gone back up to $349 at Bunnings but still available at the good guys for $209 + delivery. With that in mind not sure if that's an advantage now as you may be able to get Bunnings to beat the good guys price by 10%

  • Nice find! I’ve got the previous, single camera model and have been very happy with it

  • Does solo mean it doesn't need a hub?

    • +6

it has 8gb of onboard storage, but also compatible with homebase if you have one

      • Thanks mate

      • What does that equate to in terms of days / weeks of storage….. On average as I know lots of events will affect things.

        • +3

          from their site

With 8 GB of eMMC storage built in, 90 days of video can be stored. This is based on an average of recording 30 videos, each of 20 seconds in length, per day.

          • @AssBargain: Thanks.

          • @AssBargain: The downside of inbuilt eMMC storage is that if it dies then you cannot save any footage (unless you also have a micro SD slot in the device/hub). My Homebase only had eMMC and now I'm looking for a cheap way of finding a Homebase to replace it after the eMMC died - as it is my 4 security cameras can only be viewed interactively - they cannot save footage anymore.

whats real world battery life like on these for small amount of events per day? looking to move away from google nest doorbell due to subscription

    • Real world battery life with medium sensitivity on detection and Power Manager set to Optimal Surveillance is about 60-65 days.

      • dang, thats considerably less than the ~5 months i get on the nest doorbell

        • You get 5 months? How the (profanity) did you manage that, i sold mine cause i couldnt get more than a week.

          • @Kirbieb: very little event detections per day since i live by myself. Probs only like 2-4, mainly got it to keep an eye on my parcel deliveries. Theres definately something wrong with your unit if dies in just over a week.

    • I went from the Eufy 2K doorbell to this model, originally got 3-5 months from the 2K doorbell, however with this model I get 2-3 months.

    • Mine gets 5-6 months and around 200 minutes of video on a battery. I don't get a lot of detections - normally just a few per day. I use "Optimal Infrared Night Vision", which I think uses less power than Colour Night Vision (which I think turns on both LEDs).

Awesome timing, my last eufy doorbell finally kicked the bucket. This one also has spare batteries so you can hotswap them.

FYI Special Orders are not eligible for free delivery under One Pass

  • +2

Tempting. I have the single camera model. Do I need this? 😂

    • +1

      Same boat. It's tempting.

  • +2

If anyone needs a Enclosure for this : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/276809167939

E340 is great because battery is removable so you can buy a spare from USA (They dont seem to sell batteries in AU..)
ALso has USB C, But I have seen a lot of people using a Small solar panel with usb to set and forget.

    • Nice idea if your unit is in direct weather/in a very vulnerable spot, shame it's so hideous though

      • +1

Most solar panels come with 3-5m cables (usually) for this very reason, so rarely need to consider the device to be powered wnkigwgiuww

I reckon they sell the batteries here now.

      EDIT: WELCOME10 for 10% off

Didn’t know it has lights as well. Pretty handy for finding keys after dark.

    • Definitely, they are more than enough for providing a bit of a path light or similar

  • What is the difference with this apart from lights? Both 2k both can support the homebase.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/eufy-security-wireless-du…

    • Requires HomeBase2

      • But I have a homebase 3

        • Works with HB3, have one setup with it. It will even allow unlocking of a smart door lock from when you are in the doorbell video mode (live stream)

          • @DannyBoy: Haha yes I know, sorry let me rephrase.

I have a homebase 3. What are the pros and cons of each camera if both are run-off the homebase 3?

I can see that this E340 has a light.

            • @RtN: I know its not mentioned but the S330 has lights at the bottom as well. I just bought it last week. I think there was another pro to the S330 in addition to adjustable camera angle for bottom cam. S330 uses microusb port for charging though.

"Note also that the dual cam doorbell (T8213G11) is the slightly older model. There is a newer T8214T11 dual cam model (E340) which has lights at the top and bottom of the unit, battery is removable, and it can also run standalone (solo) if desired (can work without a HomeBase) and is the same price (RRP) as the older model"

So lights, removable battery, standalone mode.

Personally the battery is a big draw (pun not intended).

Looks like price has gone back up to $349 at Bunnings but still available at the good guys for $209 + delivery. With that in mind not sure if that's an advantage now as you may be able to get Bunnings to beat the good guys price by 10%

    • +1

It's back to 209$ when you click the Bunnings link btw! Just ordered one for Click and Collect, thanks OP!

  • +1

How do you stop people from stealing it, people here would just bring a hex screwdriver and paper clip and steal it…

    • Why would you need it?

  • Do Bunnings price beat on "special order" items?

    • +1

Depends on the person so you may have to try different days with different bunnings.

      • +5

To answer my own question. I managed a price beat with Bunnings so down to $188.10. Thanks OP.
edit. Just in the nick of time, they are back down to $209.

        • +1

Yeah, you did well, went to price match beat too and it was 209$

        • How you price beat?
Goodguys now $309 and Bunnings now $209

          • @jimmyyonly: Price beat was relevant earlier today when Bunnings had put their price back up and Good Guys was still $209.

          • @jimmyyonly: Seems good guys have now reverted back to $309 now with Bunnings being the only ones at $209
Not sure how much longer they will keep it at that price

        • Are you happy to share the receipt so we can price match that?

  • Eufy cameras work pretty well and if anything goes wrong their customer support in Australia is good (e.g. they will send you a new camera for free)

  • Does anyone have generic solar panels that work for their Eufy battery cams (specifically 2C)? I've bought some in the past that never actually charged and since doing a deep dive it seems it's a total dice roll whether they're compatible or not.

  • +1

I am deciding if I should get the E340 doorbell or the C31 doorbell. Both would be wired and i have a homebase3. I am leaning towards the C31 as lets me record 24/7 and the E340 will show events only. This price is very appealing though. Can anyone help me with this decision? :)

    • What are other differences?

      • I think the E340 has a better camera, it has an inbuilt light and has two cameras. I'm not overly fussed about the picture quality as both will be great. Just annoying that the E340 doesnt have 24/7 recording.

    • +1

I was in the exact same boat as you but ended up getting this deal for the e340. I already have the e340 floodlight covering the porch recording 24/7 to homebase3 so events were fine for me.

What tipped me over the edge for the e340 (aside from the killer price) is knowing it's their flagship doorbell as well as package detection. Delivery people often don't even ring the doorbell so the reminder to pick up the package from the cam will be a handy feature for me.

That and also if I ever have a power outage I can at least still record events (after switching it back to record to its inbuilt memory). That's all in theory anyway, haven't actually got the doorbell to test it haha. Anyway hope I've helped you make a decision :)

      • Cheers mate! I pulled the trigger too, I also have 2 E340's with a 1TB homebase so I agree I probably dont need 24/7 on the doorbell as well. :)

        • 24/7 is great on wired cameras like the E340 floodlights… not so much on battery powered ones.

If you have a front window sill, it's worth putting an indoor cam on it pointed outside to capture events on the street/footpath.

  • This is tempting.

I have the older 2K model with homebase 2 (I have HB3 too but that one is located too far from my planned doorbell location which is at the front fence gate).

The dualcam feature and swappable battery for this one is desirable. Though, the comments about this version having a shorter time between recharges is worrying.

The doorbell will be mounted on my front gate facing a footpath and the road. Whilst I'd like to have motion detection capture footage turned on, I'm worried it'll drain the battery quicker than I'd like. At our old place, the battery originally lasted 5-6 months but only lasted 1-1.5 months with motion detection capture turned on leading up to when we moved. I fear this will be shorter at the new house as this location will pick up a lot of movement.

I dont think eufy doorbells can ‘call’ your phone like other camera doorbells

  • Pulled the trigger last night but could'nt get gift cards applied with TGG.
Cancelled and tried re-order this morning, but had trouble getting through to the payment page…
Finally did it on the phone.

    • Had the exact same thing happen, except i didn't bother ordering without the GC.

Tried doing it this morning and couldn't even log into my account any more lol.

      Just gonna go with bunnings.

      • FOMO :)

  • Good Guys have reverted back to $309

If can't get to a Bunnings, you can always try getting jbhifi to price match(JB tend to be pretty good)nor even Good Guys

  • +1

I got JB to match - have some gift cards to use up.

    • No luck for me unfortunately. Did you price match in store?

      • No, did it all in the online chat

    • JB online wouldn't price match for me, but no issues in store.

  • wanted to buy my daughter a camera doorbell for her place , she would most likely only need it to go to her phone so she can see who is at the door while she’s at work , what does the homebase do and would she really need it ?

    • +1

Not necessary for this model, it has onboard storage. Homebase however can be used as an additional chime inside the house, which can be handy.

      • thank you for this ..she’s only in a small unit so probably won’t need the chime ..it’s more while she’s at work

        • Sounds like she just needs the doorbell then.

This one will be useful as it will be able to see down low for packages.

          • @Mugsy: yes her packages have gone walk about before but funny enough there’s only 2 levels and only her and another unit on that level .she knows it’s the neighbour but can’t accuse them without proof ..

            • @TrustNoBody: Definitely get this one then!

And I hope there's a spot where the doorbell camera can be mounted to see things properly.

If her unit has a window next to the front door, another option is to set up an internal security camera looking out like any of the Tapo C2XX series of cameras that are often on sale. Turn off the sensor lights for the camera and as long as there's not excessive sunlight hitting that window, there should be pretty good quality footage. These camera detect motion so can be set up to record any motion which should pick up on package thieves.

  • I was able to just place an order for $209 in Bunnings now.

    Possibly back in stock ?

    • Still available to purchase just then.

  • Anyone installed a standalone chime that triggered an alarm without a smartphone?

    • Eufy have a wireless chime, and you can use a Homebase. Alexa can be used as well. There's even an option during setup to use an old wired chime.

  • Definitely expired now.

    Price back up to $309.

Guess that makes it easier to decide to not get it and to just use the existing eufy doorbell i have a bit longer.

  • Mine's ready for pickup at Bunnings apparently.

  • Damn, missed this but if anyone happens to have a spare and willing to sell at same sale price, please do let me know! Thank you
