With the Choice sale over here is a few new coupon codes that limited to selected "Winter Wishes Savings" banner products.

Join Team OzBargain to earn cashback on your orders as shopping credit. It currently sits at 8% and stacks with TCB/CR/SB cashback. Once joined shop as normal and you'll get a percentage back shortly after your order ships

As always I recommend paying in USD, as that's the currency AliExpress trade in and their AU rate will fluctuate. How to get the best rates is explained further below. If you complain that the code is "not working" remember that I have said it's not a sitewide sale. There's no need to spam my PMs again.

Min spend excludes GST and shipping. Limit 1 coupon per account. Cannot be combined with the Welcome Offer for new users, used to purchase phones, or applied to some Big Save limited offers.

Discount (US$) Min Spend (US$) Coupon Code 1
US$2 US$19 ASAU40
US$3 US$29 AEAU60
US$5 US$45 AEAU05
US$10 US$99 AEAU10
US$15 US$139 ASAU15

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA

  • Hey @Clear, where can a person see their accumulated cashback amount? I've looked in both the browser and phone app and I can't find where it would be shown.

    • In the app, Accounts tab, scroll down a little and it’s called Shopping Credits (in the row under the game links)

      • Ah, thanks! I thought I'd looked under there and found nothing before, but now that I go into it I see I've been shopping…a little bit more than usual. I do recall Clear once saying that it can take a while for the credits to appear so that's likely what it was. I appreciate the tip.

        • Credits appear after your purchase ships, which is typically within a day or two of purchase (but occasionally longer)

Painful to check out. Right at the end it says some items out of stock… when they weren't. Had to check out via desktop

    • This is happening more and more nowadays, a real pita

AliExpress is no longer the budget-friendly marketplace it once was. I’ve recently encountered three sellers in a row attempting to extort up to $250 USD on top of the listed shipping fee, just to ship items weighing around 5kg, a completely unreasonable demand.

The support experience has been equally frustrating:
Chat support agents have no authority to resolve disputes.
The resolution team does not review evidence and responds with automated emails.
Even when sellers admit to not shipping items, no meaningful action is taken.
Refund decisions are delayed or ignored, even when deadlines have passed.

Given this, I’ll be extremely cautious about making expensive purchases on AliExpress going forward. I’ll also use PayPal exclusively, as it offers stronger buyer protection and a more reliable dispute process.

    • I've often had issues with really heavy, obscure products to the point where I source them elsewhere or try to find Choice. The real bulky stuff with Choice often takes a couple of months since it's sent by sea but at least I know it's actually arriving.

  • hey @clear does the checkout need to be done in usd using paypal? I've got a 30 dollars off 50 dollar order on afterpay that i want to use
