Looks identical to the Big W/KMart/Bunnings ones but $5 cheaper. If you do click and collect you get a $5 voucher as well. Worth it if the store is convenient to get to.

      The Bunnings one is $25?

      • That's just what they said.

      • +1

Bunnings one has now moved to a non removable metal pot stand, so the container is twice as big fyi

  • No stock around Brisbane:(

My 15 year old camping kmart special has just about rusted into oblivion… Might have to bite the bullet!

These were great during the cyclone

How does the cyclone feel simultaneously years ago and just like yesterday. Covid has totally stuffed my perception of time.

Also check on Markeplace. Got one in great condition with can of gas for $5.

    Kmart and more stock available

The green one they sell at Kmart for $25 is great.

It has good fine control at low burner settings and a spring loaded tab to keep the cartridge aligned when it's disengaged. The Bunnings one sucks in both of these aspects.

  • Thanks for the hot tip. Ordered for East Gippsland camping trips.

  • honestly these cheaper stoves don't perform well. Get yourself an Iwatani

    • are these stocked in Sydney/Australia? Japanese grocers perhaps? A quick google suggests I'll have to source from eBay or Japan

      • Not sure I bought from Amazon US a few years back, paid $142.

    • I just bought some stock at the Osaka store, but locally available? I especially like their camp stoves that use the cheap flanged canisters (tall cylinder) over the expensive threaded format (squat cylinder). Their qualuty japanese manufacturing is evident too.

Would be a game changer if distributed in oz.

    • honestly these cheaper stoves don't perform well.

Realistically anything using butane gas will not perform too well at all.

      • I own and regularly use Iwatani 35FW, it does perform extremely well, no worse than a normal gas stove. The butane cylinder heater plate is a game changer, allowing gas pressure to be stable down the the last drop.

    • You're comparing a $200+ stove to a $20 stove, of course it's going to perform better at ten times the price!

      • It's fair observation, however my point is sometimes you want to spend 5-10x to get an appliance that works, rather than spend 1x to get something that doesn't really work. For example you want a good drill bit, which might cost $10 and pass on a cheaper 10c one.

        • I understand what you're trying to say, however the $20 option does work, but just doesn't perform as well as the $200 option.

I bought my single burner Gasmate 8,500 BTU stove from BCF for $45….good quality.
The Iwatani look impressive and have a higher BTU….thanks

  • Thanks OP. Bought one with click and collect. Used the $5 voucher for buying the gas bottles.
