  • Great price I wish I have the cash haha

  • WTF MAN!!!!
I paid this much for the 75C755 back in December. What a rort

    • +1

Lol i paid this much for the 75c835 back in November 2022. Great series of TV's they are.

    • How much better is this over yours?

    • +1

I paid this much for a 50"in 2020. Feel cheated

  • Is this a good tv ?

    • +1

Yes, the C7K & C8K are very good value imho, there's not a lot that competes that isn't 2x the price.

      • +4

Are we missing out on much between the c7k and the c8k?

        • -4

AI overview : The TCL C8K generally offers superior performance compared to the C7L, particularly in picture quality, due to its higher brightness, more dimming zones, and potentially better contrast. The C8K also features a more premium design and potentially better audio. However, the C7L can still be a great option, especially if you're looking for a more budget-friendly Mini LED TV. The C8K boasts a higher peak brightness (up to 4500 nits) and a higher number of local dimming zones

        • +5

C8k is brighter, more nits. So if you have a bright room it's better. If you have a dark room get the c7k and save some cash. Thats what i did, love our c7k 85".

          • +1

@iwatchfatpplsleep: Exactly this. Unless you have a very bright room with windows facing the TV directly, you wouldn't see a difference between C7K and C8K. I have 85" C745 Pro, which is technically inferior to both above (probably pretty close to C7K), and the colours, contrast and brightness levels I'm getting from that TV are crazy. My friend has C8K and we literally can't see any picture quality difference between the two TVs (in fact, he regrets paying a lot for that TV since mine is facing a massive window yet producing fantastic pictures. However, the built quality (nicer materials, slightly thinner borders, etc.) is better on C8K, which is quite noticeable (if it's something you care about).

        • I ended up with a 65" C7K as I couldn't justify spending over $1500 on a TV, but there is a definite difference - the C8K has even deeper blacks, and definitely brighter. Personally though, I don't think it's worth it, the C7 is 90% as good for much less cash.

          • @Ozymandias: Rtings measured the blacks as slightly better on the C7K but the C8K gets brighter.

      • How is the C7K and C8K different from C755 or C855? 2024 vs 2025?

    • +1

Yeah, picture quality is very good. A lot of TV nerds complain about motion handling - I have one I use for gaming and tv/movies and have never noticed anything, but perhaps if a majority of the stuff you watch is sports it's not for you. Definitely crazy value for money if you're not looking to splurge on an OLED

      • First time I have heard that re sports, won’t be buying one.

        • +2

i have the 85 inch mate, i watch KAYO religiously and some NBA.. i have no issues with the motion handling at all. Much better than my old samsung QLED

        • Do some research on it, I'm really just going off the tv forum nerds who shit on these TVs and will praise something like the X90L instead, because despite the worse picture quality it has better upscaling and motion handling. But TV nerds probably notice a lot that we don't, and our eyes just get wowed by good picture and contrast.

I'd just go to a store if you can, JB probably has them in stock, and flick to a sports game.

          • +1

@halfwaycrooks: I got my 75in X90L for $1250 about a year ago on a "boxed damaged" thing from Sony and I absolutely love it, that being said I got my mother a 65in C855 and I can say that it unequivocally has a better picture quality, deeper blacks and more vibrant colours

  • $960 off. They your in laws? why they givin so much discount?

  • -2

Hmm my then top of the line TCL 65x4us just died after 7 years, screen had magenta fringing for last 2 years and was pretty poor at upscaling.
Meanwhile Panasonic led is 11 years and still as good as new. Not sure if saving a few $ on Chinese tv is worth it vs a Samsung, LG or Sony? Has TCL improved in the last few years??

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

I think you might have overlooked the fact that Samsung, Sony, and many other brands use TCL’s QLED and Neo QLED panels in their TVs.
I’ve owned several TCL TVs over the past few years without a single issue. In contrast, two of my Sony TVs stopped working after just two years.
Welcome to the new, Chinese-made world.

      • I recall that was one of the reasons I went with the TCL that they made panels for Samsung. Obviously there's a lot more to TVs than panels and of course there's all the different grades. IME TCL at the time had a poor android OS implementation which took over a minute to boot up and an illogical what seemed like a beta version menu structure and lots of other gremlins like wifi would only connect 50% of the time. I'm not Sino-phobic, I've recently ordered a BYD Shark 6, just relating my experience but of course that's enough to get negged here.

  • brother man i am also looking for a decent TCL 85ér, lemme know if you see one for a cheap price

    • +2

This model of TCL is far superior in terms of display quality, HDR and Dolby Vision. LG is good as well but the brightness level in TCL is more than double of this LG TV.

  • OOS

  • are these the new c855;s?

    • +2

The C8K is the new 855. This is the C7K.

      • Although the C7K is about on par with the previous C855

        • -1

That's not true at all. The 855 is still the better tv in almost every single metric. Where did you get that from?

  • +1

I got it price matched at The Good Guys online including delivery.

    • did you pay with gift cards? Costco have 2% cashback

      • +4

Negative. I am not a true Oz Bargainer. My P Plates have now been revoked. Back to my L's. I am sorry.

  • +11

Noticed retravision are doing the 65 for a very keen price.
    https://www.retravision.com.au/tcl-65inch-c7k-premium-qd-min…

    • Just for reference…I bought my 65" C7K from Retravision in the 1st week of July - price was $1275. OMG it is so good! (upgraded from a 2013-ish LG 48" 1080P)

    • That’s an elite price, JB yesterday wouldn’t come below $1400. Even the 55 is $100 more. Mate was able to grab one, thanks!

    • Wait whaaaaat?! 1k for C7K?!
      Grab one

    • Thanks, was in market for c8k but price so good i grabbed one of these instead.

  • 85c7k is $2397 on eBay via appliances online (delivery included) with a discount code. That’s $700 more than this 75” for an extra 10”.

hrm.. I’ll wait for a little bit longer and hope to see some good price drops in couple of months.

    • Could you share the code? Cheers mate

      • YAUPGIGQFTSLSP7M

        • this only with ebay plus? not working for me when i use it on checkout

          • @victimize: I don’t have any plus subscription.

Maybe it already got taken by someone else from this forum or it was intended for my use only.

    • +1

Hold strong, but keep in mind 85-inch TV has about 28.4% more screen area than the 75-inch TV.

  • Still love my C855

    Sick tv

  • anyone know if the connection ports are on the left, right, or bottom of this tv?

    • If you're looking at the rear of the tv, they are bottom left. But power input is bottom right.

  • DAMN this is the exact TV I've been looking to get
