Lost $70 in ShopBack Gift Card Credit - Am I Foolish or Is ShopBack Oversmart?

I purchased $100 ShopBack Gift Card Credit (as part of promotion - Win a share of $5000 CASH - ShopBack Giveaways).
Now I used this credit to buy a super swap gift card of $30, phew - what a purchase - rest of the $70 from the $100 ShopBack Credit is down the drain.

Have reached out to ShopBack for help and they shared this snippet from Terms and Conditions!

ShopBack Credit is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and can only be redeemed for ShopBack Gift Cards and/or vouchers. Credit must be used in full in a single transaction, any unused balance will be forfeited.

They have not added this condition anywhere in the main page but added inside Terms and Conditions at point 19 - too smart right?
I'm thinking this is a trick from their side to stay in the business.

Anyone else in the boat? any suggestions?

{{{UPDATE}}- They are super-fast to resolve it and added lost credit amount of $70 in my account and acknowledged missing such key term in the main page of promotion.
100 marks to customer service :)

Thank you everyone for comments.

I'm not sure if this is ADAGCHS or ADACBHS @mapax.

    Please advice.

Just learnt - Another Day Another Gift Card Horror Story & Another Day Another Cash Back Horror Story.

Finally, I'm the victim of these horror stories.

My understanding is it was a gift card credit purchased primarily due to a competition rather than the cashback, therefore ADAGCHS.

    Unfair

Sounds deceptive to me. Don't see why they can't keep track of how much of the SB GC you've used.

      OP made cents. Cheers

    • Yes they were super fast - was surprised

  • Shopback likes adding extra rules in order for them to claw as much profit away from consumers
(e.g you'll have to activate in store cashback yourself via the promo code button at checkout)
