  • Has anyone seen it before? Does it worth to invest for kids to experience?

I've been to other shows, it's truly a spectacle.

We took our 3 year old daughter, and she was absolutely hooked the entire time, loved it

      • Do you have to pay for the kid?

        • 3 and up yes, if below 3 they don’t need to pay if they sit on your lap

It's pretty bloody cool. Jaw dropping levels of athleticism. I was cringing during the contortionist though - couldn't imagine my body in those crazy positions.

      • Agreed, fantastic everything but ill shut my eyes next time the contortionist comes out.

    • if I want to watch clowns in a circus I'll just got to Canberra for free and watch the government.

    How much are they normally?

    • Over $100 from memory. Closer to $150 if anything.

It's a shame it's now at the Qudos Bank Arena. The tent at the Entertainment Quarter was fitting and really added to the experience IMO.

Edit: and you also used to be able to select your seats, now they seem to just randomly assign seats in a section.

It appears all the negative reviews on Google says similar things about the change of venue in the UK

      • Ive bought anyway, so I can see for myself.

    • +2

The venue depends on the show, some of their shows are designed for the big top, others are arena shows, Corteo is now an arena show, it was first created as a big top show though.

Regarding the tickets, that's probably more of a Ticketek decision, usually with the big top shows and their purchasing platform you can still select your seats.

  • Thanks OP — grabbed 2 in A Reserve

  • +4

Looks like the pricey tickets at the front which are a typical cirque price are the only tickets which would give you the same immersion as the reg seats gave you at the entertainment quarter venue

Anyone else feel the same way?, $70 might be cheap but it's not cheap if you can't see jack shit

    • yeah agreed, Cirque is best to be seen up close to experience the full effect. I've made the mistake with the missus to cheapen by getting even A reserve tix. Felt like we needed binoculars.

    • I went to a show at Qudos bank arena and we were so far away I could hardly see what’s happening. The big top is much better.

Was going to book but stopped after looking at the reviews: https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/AttractionProductReview-g1863…

    • Those reviews are shocking. Thanks for sharing, I'm definitely not booking this.

    • was ready to click pay but those reviews are horrid!

    • Yeah it was pretty surprising. Rarely see such negative reviews for this sort of thing

    • I don't know really, people are complaining about the price. Maybe it's not that bad for the current price?

      • -1

I mean, one review said they wouldn't go back even if they got free tickets. I was ready to pull the trigger but also feel hesitant now!

    • Needs a flash flash sale

    • Thank you. Saved me.

    • Thank you for sharing. I almost bought while choosing seats.

Sadly, I have to agree with many of the negative reviews. Normally, I’m a big fan of Cirque du Soleil and absolutely loved the other two shows I’ve seen.

I purchased presale tickets, but the seating and stage layout were very misleading. If you’re not seated right in the center, the view is restricted, and you don’t feel immersed at all — exactly how we felt. I paid $600 for four tickets, and honestly, it wasn’t worth it.

Some moments felt awkward (for example, the scene with a little person floating on balloons — it just came across as strange). The entire show felt chaotic, and the storyline was hard to follow. With all the different languages, we had no idea what was happening most of the time.

The only part I truly enjoyed was the final stunt with the bars — that was impressive! But you’ll have to wait almost two hours to get to it.

  • For 11-14 Sep it says "New Show". Did you find any information what new show is it?

    • +3

      It just means additional date.

$35 for Friday night parking is almost a dealbreaker…

      • Thanks for sharing, where can we park lidcombe for free 2+ hours on Sundays? Thanks.
